I am seriously thinking of purchasing a few balls this summer. The last ball I bought was a Lane Masters Sting, which in itself is a great ball...but its two years old and I need to "freshen up" my arsenal.
I am pretty sure I am going to go with an SR2 as my fist Motiv ball, and follow up wth a GT1 in preparation of the upcoming season.
I would like to know from some of you that currently own these balls what you think of my choices.

I think that would be a great starting route. I myself own the sr2 and gt1, but I bought the gt1 first. The gt1 is great for fresh oil on a THS and the sr2 works well for the bounce shot created as game play continues. This has at least been the look that I get with these. I am a power stroker between 17.5 and 19 mph with moderate hand. Both mine are pin up. The GT1 rolls earlier out of the 2 balls for me. I feel either ball would be a great choice to start with, but do your research on how you want the ball to play with how you toss it down the lane to.
Just my opinion/observation, hope it helps!

Thanks for your input DJ. I am looking at the SR2 as my first ball because from what I have read,..it has a little more length, and a strong move to the pocket. The GT1 wants to start its move earlier, but really ,...I will most likely get them both at the same time. I am pretty excited , but I hear that Motiv is coming out with a new ball late summer. Maybe I'll wait and see what it is before I buy anything.

Tim,
Those were the first two Motiv Balls I got and it is a great place to start. In my experience the total amount of boards they cover is about the same, and which one hooks earlier is all dependent upon the surface of the lane. My GT1 tends to slide farther on wood then my SR2, vice versa on synthetics. They are both great balls and a great foundation for an arsenal.
I've since expanded my arsenal to include everything but the purple QZ1.

Seriously, if you can get the TZ-3 at your end, then take the TZ-3 & the SR-2 instead of the GT-1. Or even the SX-1 for the 3rd ball I am sure they will not disappoint you.
Get the GT-1 only if you have a lot of hand or otherwise get the TR-2 better.

Well I ordered my first Motiv, an SR2 and should have it early next week. I am having it drilled with the pin UNDER my ring finger on this ball on recomendation of my ball driller/coach. I am curious to see how this ball reacts, all my other balls have the pin over my ring finger, or over the bridge. Getting a new ball is always exciting, can't wait till next week.

Thats good to hear Dustin.
My coach, who is also my ball driller and owns the pro shop suggested the layout. She is a former WPBA pro bowler and Queens champion and she has never steered me wrong.

That's a great first MOTIV ball choice, we all know how much you will like this ball. This ball will give a great range of what ball to buy next. I have a real strong layout in one of mine, I took the cover to 4000 polish and I get a very smooth reaction, ball hit like a tank. Good luck.

Thanks Dave. I often hear that its possible to find a ball company that matches up well with a bowlers style. I am hoping that Motiv is that ball company for me.
Looking forward to next week when I get my SR2 and trying it on the Scorpion pattern.
