get youre dynamics figured out for a right hander and drill the the middle finger thru the pin and you can make any new ball act like urethane.... just sayin... ask Schlemer from storm or anyone else that really knows about bowling.

The surface is still the primary determinant of ball reaction. Even weaker reactives will exhibit different friction characteristics than urethane.

Some balls, depending up their mass distribution, will either raise the drilled RG and differential or lower it. Simply removing mass from the top of the block won't always make any ball roll like urethane. You also have to account for hole size and depth.

Thanks Justin. I agree that exotic drillings can do wonders but a good urethane no matter the drilling can't be beat. Good example, my boomer RX1 (sanded or polished) on the cheetah will skid through even a trace of oil outside of 5 and start to read as soon as it sees clean lane surface. I can use my natural on the same line and it will read about 5 feet sooner, and roll off the pattern. I will post a video tonight on youtube and you can see what I mean. But nothing can turn the corner like a reactive, and Motiv makes some of the best most controllable reactives in the world. No way could I play my normal house shot line with a urethane. But I could play up the oil line like I did last year and shot back to back 700's, 758 - 705, on an over under house shot. I know it's kind of a niche ball but Storm turned the natrual into a success and I think we can as well.

Good luck and good bowling.

Mike

OK Natural vs RX1 on my youtube.

Natural http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpeZe6QADcc
RX1's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6V0w459 ... er&list=UL

WOW I love the looks of the new RX1, and I like the Motiv logo on it. That brings me to a question for everyone with an RX1. What is your favorite layout for the RX1 on the THS? I've tried three now, and two worked out great. I was thinking of a pin down (rico type) layout, or a 130 digree pin down layout. But for me pin down layouts with the cg under on high RG cores tend to be strong off friction, even angular. Just wondering how the pin down is working with the RX1.

Thanks everyone,

Mike
