Which is weaker/beater on dryer conditions? The house I bowl in right now is really dry. My recon is rolling way to early even after being polished up(Ebonite factory polish). I have been using a storm natural but carry has been garbage as its not quite finishing the way I would like. So my question is; Would the Ascent pearl handle a drier condition better or worse than my orange recon? This is me throwing the recon. It is on a slicker shot that the current shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLm7AT5wp4o

The pearl Ascent isn't the ball for dry lanes.Just because it says entry level, doesn't mean it's weaker. This is ball is stronger.I believe it's stronger than the QZ2 and the Backdraft. When this ball hits the mid-lane,it reads it sooner than the QZ's.This is a great ball, just not a ball for dry lanes.

Actually, I disagree. I drilled mine weaker. with the layout I have on it, it is perfect for dry lanes. I used it on lanes that had league, sat overnight, then had a bunch of kids bowl on it. That ball read beautiful.
Then I tried fresh oil. While it still moved ok, it was definatley a straighter path to the pocket. While i am sure I can drill it ot be more aggressive, i specifically got this ball for dryer lane conditions and I am loving it.

While it may work on dry with a weak drilling,it's at least 8 boards stronger than the Silver RX1.It's better suited for lanes that are on second shift. But as a pure dry lane ball, the RX1 is the best. This is a fantastic ball.Stronger than most are giving it credit for.

yes don't be fooled by the entry level label...this ball is a beast at the price point. getting a silver recon for dry lanes.

My recon is just too much for the shot that is out there.

Im a lefty also, have you tried to popen up the lane alil more by playing a bigger line or lofting it it alil more to take out the some of the heads on the lane.

I have tried moving in. But the shot being so dry I end up playing where the righties are so my ball is checking up as soon as it hits the lane almost.
I am not very good at all at lofting the ball. Im inaccurate and I usually throw it slower with more hand thus the ball hooks even more.
The best thing I have found is to throw urethane or to take as much hand as possible out and throw it a little firmer.
