Opening weekend is here so might as well kick off the discussion.

Patterns are posted ... onditions/

Team is 43ft this year, little less volume and higher ratio in comparison to last year.

Singles/Doubles is 40ft, little more volume and higher ratio in comparison to last year.

Early look to me is scores will be higher overall, especially in singles/doubles but shot making will still be required as the patterns are cupcake by any means.

I'm two weeks away from tossing balls out there and will make a detailed write up when I return, best of luck to all and if anyone is out there March 13-17 shoot me a PM if you would like to try and meet up.

Also still finalizing the Six i'm taking, right now I only have 4 locked in Talon, Sting, Rage, Tank(myspareball)

The rest of my bag is going to be a battle between my other Sting, Cruel Intent, Tribal, and Revolt unless I get a wild hair and drill something else before I go (didn't completely intend on it but changed thumb pitches and only have motiv stuff punched up right now)

I don't go until the middle of June. Will probably drill something new there but will also drill another here before that.

As far as sport layouts go what I have is a Sigma Tour (drilled in Reno last year) and a Venom Strike drilled a month ago.

Looking for some input on what else to drill with a control layout for Nationals that would be above my Sigma Tour on the hook scale.

I'm looking at either a Covert Revolt, Raptor Talon or Cruel Intent.

In Use: THS
Sigma Tour
Primal Rage
Sigma Sting
In Use: Sport
Covert Revolt
Sigma Tour
Venom Strike

In storage shed:
Sigma Hybrid
Primal Scream

So in the typical, good, bad, ugly here is my run down.

Starting with the ugly, my spare game, missed two single pins, chopped three makeable spares in 9 games, left a lot out there.

Then the bad, my ball choice, twice I made the wrong ball change, in team I had a good look on the fresh and never found the right piece to give me a big scoring look for the next two. Then again after doubles, I made a ball change to start singles and really cost myself in the opening game of singles.

Finally the good, overall as negative as I am with myself I did throw a few strikes and get some breaks. Team event I shot 583 (221-184-178), Doubles 658 (200-224-234), and Singles 615 (170-225-220) for an AE total of 1856. Now that number isn't large, but for me being a house hack i'm pretty okay with it, made some money in brackets and look to in position to cash in ever event though not very high in any.

So for the details, Team pattern on the fresh played excellent up 9/10 board for me with a rolly layout Sigma Sting at 3000. Due to the team I crossed with and people on my pair not working together a lot of dull hook monsters were thrown all over the place and I never really found a look when my line started to dry up, and my execution with little miss room resulted in two games that were sloppy and low.

Doubles/Singles I started with a Pin up Cruel Intent at 3000 and didn't move til the end of game three of doubles, I had a very good look playing around 13-10, and creeping in as it went on. I made the wrong ball change to start singles and split a few times. Towards the end of that game I got out a Shiny Covert Revolt and had a look everyone should dream of having. My 225-220 finish in singles should have been 250+ each game with the look I had inside, I left a couple bad break single pins, and just errantly tossed a few shots, and missed two spares leaving a ton of pins and money out there. As the games went on in minors I was just targeting the further outside range finder and crept in, was aiming about 22 at the arrows at the end.

Overall patterns played pretty soft in my opinion, I am not a great bowler so the fact I had error room on the fresh of both patterns I really feel like there will be some monster scores shot as the higher caliber teams make it out.

Hope this can help some of you guys and if you have any questions feel free to ask

I go at the end of May.

I am taking these:

Venom Shock (no way am I leaving this monster at home)
2 Cruel
Venom Toxin
Sigma Sting
Covert Revolt ( undrilled still )
Arctic Sniper (waiting for delivery)

Sigma Tour
Sigma Hybrid (gave me 647 in singles last year)

Yeah, 10. When I get there and see some reaction out of things at the practice lanes and the BJI, I will end up leaving 2 in the hotel room.

The 2 most likely to be dropped are the Toxin and the Tribal. Probably will be too weak. Not that I will need strength.

I am betting it is a Revolt and Shock kind of tournament this year.

SR2, Sig Tour, Sig Hybrid, 2Cruel,Toxin, Frenzy,
Rage, Tribal, Intent, Sting(times 2), Shock, Revolt
I've got so many no room for layouts in signature

MPH 16-20
RR : 420
PAP 5.125 over 0.25 down

Team event I used a Redball at 4000 clean the entire time. During practice, I used a 1000 clean Thrash and played up the boards to burn the track. Started playing 12-7, finished 21-9, posted 188, 268,300.

Doubles/Singles, I used the Thrash game 1 playing 8-6. Then flipped back and forth between a pin up Tribal (1000 polished) and pin down Tribal (2000 clean). Shot sets of 640 and 618.

Remember that they may play differently pending who is on your pair, and how you and your team open up the lanes and play them.
