Also, please keep in mind that the cover on the new Ascent is NOT the Fusion cover and the Revolt and Shock have very different covers as well. There were four straight balls with the Fusion pearl released; that is true. When a company happens upon a new technology there has to be research to understand that cover. Those four balls were all necessary to round out the line and they also (bonus) allotted us time to develop new covers from what the fusion pearl taught us.

I hope this is helpful. There are MANY new shells coming even this year. I'm elated about what the future holds for MOTIV.

Thanks Brett, that is helpful. If you're excited then there's no doubt we can be excited too.

How would you compare the new cover on the Ascent Apex to say, the Tribal?

I wonder how this ball will compare to the Tribal in terms of strength.

Believe it or not, I prefer this ball to the Tribal. It's a matter of preference, though. The Fusion XL is cleaner than the original Fusion by about 2-3 feet with the same core in them. It's also just a touch smoother/slower response to friction. With the Recon core in that shell I'm able to play shallower angles than the Tribal without giving up ANY hitting power; it's really incredible. It's a unique shape in the product line that we have not yet produced.

Based on what Brett said, I bet the APEX would be spectacular on the high friction wood lanes I see on my mixed league. Yup, I think I need this one.
