As of right now Motiv can't be thrown on the PBA since its only a grassroots company. It can be thrown in Regionals though and there was talks of Danny Wiseman being Motivated.

Danny Wiseman is an official staff member for MOTIV. I have personally talked to him and he is very pleased with how the equipment hits and carries for him. He also says that he was honored to be approched by Motiv to be a member of there staff and he hopes that everyone will support him and wishhim the best of luck this yeaar on tour and encourages everyone to by Motiv

So does this mean Motiv will no longer be considered grassroots? or will he be a staffer that pushes the equipment but competes with something else?

Very good point....I know Danny was bowling at the TOC that Kelly Kulick won, so unless MOTIV isn't grassroots anymore, he wasn't using MOTIV equipment.

I do not know the situation w/Danny Wiseman, but Motiv is a PBA "grassroots" brand company. That means they can only be thrown at Regionals and Sr. events. Brett has also informed us that is can be used at the Tour Trials. However, at a PBA NATIONAL event, they cannot be used. I would imagine that Motiv has arranged for Danny to use other equipment while at Nat'l events and Motiv equipment at Regionals and other non-PBA tournies. For Motiv to become PBA full registration, would cost a minimum of $125k PLUS another $50k-$100k for at least 2 Nat'l staff members (paying them, expenses, free equipment, etc.) That's alot of money for a new ball company. I know there is a push for them to do so but I hope they really think it through. Their main function is to make money by selling bowling balls. I've always contended that the local pros and high caliber amateurs can sale more bowling balls for a company then the Touring pros because if your staff pro didn't make the show, no one knows/sees what he was throwing. It didn't benefit MoRich, did it! They had agrueably the best bowler ever on their staff and they had to drop down to 'grassroots' status.
Let's be patient and make sure Motiv continues their current excellent ways of doing business before they jump into the big arena. They have got a good thing going so it would be smart to build on that to continue the success they've accomplished.
