Ok I have a new GT1 sitting here in need of some holes punched in it and wanted to here some stories of peoples layout and reactions. Anyone went pin under? I am 16 MPH and Low-Medium Revs. Bowl on Modified house shot on synthetic and old wood high friction. Kinda looking for something on the Synthetic. Lets hear it!!!

I have one pin under. It gives a good pop out of the oil and is tame on the back end. i would describe the hook shape as a very flattened out V on most conditions. very easy to control. The GT does need some juice up front though. The cover is very aggressive. I have recently taken the cover to 2000 and then polished to a mirror. This has tamed it a bit. When it was OOB, it could cut through oil as well as anything I have ever seen. I talked to someone over the weekend who had pin above and he indicated his will get down the lane, then go left. These are aggressive balls, so take that into consideration when figuring out what you want to do. My guess is though, no matter what you do, the GT will be better suited for use on the synthetic w/ modified HS, as opposed to the older wood house. For reference, we have about the same speed but I am a tweener as far as revs.

The most important consideration when drilling a GT1 is the lower differential. Use slightly stronger pins than normal. Pins up pop a bit, pins under are smoother. Something like a 50x30@4.5 would do nicely, tune cover to match volume.

I was really thinking the 4 1/2 would be best. I think we came to that answer with my TR2 also. But I thought about 4 1/2 pin under. I sent Brett a message to I think he would also say 4 1/2 but what you think about pin under? Didn't know if that would be too early. I know the diff is super low at .032

Thanks Dustin. You bowl out of the Central?Good to meet you. I hit a few regional but don't think I have ever talked to you. You work with Riga? He wouldn't remember me prolly but I crossed with him once and he is certainly one the class acts of our region.

Well punched it 4 1/2 under with 45 degree and it hit like a truck on the Modified house on the Proanvil synthetic. 268,224(with a solid 8 and pocket 7-10) and a bad 171 game....663 not to bad. Thanks for all the help people.
