I am bowler who only bowls in one league per week. The shot is a 40 ft house shot; flooded with heavy oil layed out on full synthetic lanes. The line never changed. I throw a 12 mph ball but I dont know my rev rate. Could someone help me with getting a consistent and appropriate shot with a new motiv ball?; that would include drill specs and hand layout.
Mahalo, there are so many new products out there; i thought it was ingenious of someone to have a ol' skool conception on a new age product.
tHANK U MOTIV FOR KEEPING IT REAL!

Rasta... The rage seems to be the Sr2, and I just drilled one with a 4 1/2" pin. Seems to go long and transition well, hitting hard in the back end. But, I throw it about 5 mph faster than you, so you might want to consider a longer pin, like 5 1/2". Wish I could tell you more, as I'm new to MOTIV myself. But, I'm excited about these balls!

fricken green man!
so the theory is the pin size would help me as a lower mph bowler?
what happens if I switch to a lighter ball say 14# and up my speed to 14.5?
Would I stilli increase pin size?

Well, to tell you the truth, I'm just telling you about the 1 ball that I have. There's some guys on here that are ball-drillers that are very experienced with this equipment that can probably answer your questions better than I can. But, generally, the longer the pin from your positive axis point (PAP), the further down the lane it goes. With a slower ball speed, I would think that you'd want it to go further down the lane and not hook too early for you.

Before a solid recommendation, need a bit more info.
What weight do you throw?
What is your preferred line to play?
What balls do you have now that match up well for you?
Most likely a GT1, QZ1P, or SR2 would be appropriate.
One thing you will notice about the reaction of these balls is the consistency and the controllable nature of the reaction, as well as the pop at the pins.

I also bowl on synthetics lanes with similar conditions. I use my SR2 4 ½ in. from PAP, pin under ring finger. One thing about Motiv balls is the predictability of the movement. My arsenal is all Motiv, with different pin distances. Welcome to Motiv nation.

Id have to agree with Justin, the advancements in bowling balls today so much can be done with the right information. Whether it be layout, pin distance, cover alterations, many intelligent ball drillers today can watch you throw and fine tune almost any ball to your style. I throw mid 15's with high revs, 15lbs, I'm in love with the red QZ1, its the first ball out of my bag every time i stop up to the lane. If you can have someone shoot a quick video of you throwing a few shots and post it, the knowledge that visits this forum day to day is incredible and will be able to give you the exact information you need.
Regardless of what ball you throw, make sure its a MOTIV
