Looking for help on my first Motiv Bowling Ball to have drillled, the Raptor P7. I generally favor the asymmetric core bowling balls. Hopefully the first of many. I have decided that I also want to try the Sigma Tour and the QZ2 Backdraft even though they have symmetrical cores to fill out the arsenal and maybe others if they justifiably make sense. I bowl traditional house shots and sport shots. I'm looking for that ball that's first out of the box on fresh patterns with a strong back-end and then those that I can go to as the shot breaks-down. All of my bowling balls are drilled to use the Vise Grip IT thumb insert. I only mention that because of the extra weight that is removed because of it. I'm looking for a suggested layout for
the Raptor P7 and the others I mentioned.

25-39* of tilt is significantly high. How did you arrive at this measurement? If you are indeed that high, some fit adjustments to lower your tilt will be the first thing to address.

Justin you were right to question the axis tilt. The Axis tilt was remeasured and is 13 degrees.

Thanks, Justin! Ball is at the pro shop ready to be drilled. I'll pick up the ball this coming Tuesday. I will let you know how it performs as soon as I get a chance to bowl with it.

So here is an update on the Raptor drilling. First time out I had a difficult time getting the strong back end with the OOB finish (on AMF synthetic). My Virtual Energy (1500 grit) drilled Rico has a stronger backend when it gets out to the 5 board. I think I could of had the raptor drilled with a slightly stronger layout on the backend.
However, with your suggestion of adjusting the surface I had it wet sanded to 2000 grit. That helped it move a little stronger into the pocket but not as strong as the VE when I got it out to the 5 board. When this ball hits the pocket I'm satisfied with the pin reaction. I may experiment with 1500 grit but before I do that I want to see how the ball reacts with a fresh THS on wood lanes.
Justin, based on this information what would you recommend as a layout for a Sigma Tour and a QZ2 backdraft?
I'm not at all complaining because I shot some good scores with the ball at 2000 finish  but had to play inside with a tighter line than I wanted; 265, 255, and 206 (726 series)

try a little polish just put it on by hand let it haze the buff it off go bowl the reaction will be better

The VE is a lower differential pearl ball, the Raptor is a high differential solid. You will see more energy retention and more angularity with the VE based on a few cover variables. The VE making it back from farther outside than the Raptor wouldn't be an unusual occurrence. Generally a breakpoint of 5 is undesirable for carry, but you have to play what the shot dictates. The Raptor moving your breakpoint inside a bit wasn't a bad thing according to your scores.

Justin the layout on the Sigma Tour was right on. The only thing I did not need the balance hole near the thumb. Using the Vise IT removed enough weight to keep it legal. Ball hits like a truck. This is the first Symmetrical ball that has given me what I was looking for.
I'm looking at replacing some of my other Storm and 900 Global equipment with Motiv. I have a 900 Global Bounty drilled pin down that has given me very good performance on some of the longer sport shot patterns (Paris and US Open). I would like to know what you would recommend as a possible replacement and its layout?
Also I need a suggested layout for a QZ2 backdraft.
