Keep in mind what the hole placements do and their resulting effect on ball reaction.

P1 -20% reduction in drilled differential (On PAP)
P2 No change in drilled differential
P3 +20% increase in drilled differential
P4 +40% increase in drilled differential (On PSA)

P1=Less differential, later break point, more energy retention.
P4=More differential, earlier break point, earlier energy loss.

When a ball is bleeding energy too fast and not hooking, a P3 can make matters worse.

This is why I was curious how far apart the oil rings were, in order to help determine which way the differential needs to be modified.

Ok I probably should've waited but.. there's a p3 hole in there now. Nothing seems improved. I'll probably have to plug this up and start over.

After doing this today, I threw some and I got to see the oil lines. They were about 1/4" apart, maybe a little more.

Well, now I feel like a nub. I had the numbers backwards in my head- thanks for the correction justin.

Would a p1 hole have helped here instead? 1/4" spacing between oil rings doesn't sound like a lot, given what has been described for reaction. Curious.

1/4" flare separation after the P3 hole?

Before plugging it, try 500 Abralon. It worked well on Mick's, he was seeing a similar situation.

What may be happening is a mismatch of core torque and cover strength. With a 75* angle sum the block may just be freewheeling because the cover can't create enough friction to match up and make use of the energy the block is releasing.

Ok in the event that I have to redrill, what would you suggest for a redrill pattern? I'm slightly speed dominant, I don't know my axis tilt. My PAP is 4 1/8" right, 1/4" up. From a past post, someone said that a higher angle sum is necessary here. So what are some ideas for me?

My thoughts are:
75x4.5"x50 (same as my sr2)
130x4"x80

And I'm done. Let me know what you think.

What sort of reaction are you looking for?

Stay away from a drilling angle of 130*. That is asking for more trouble than you already have.

Get thru the heads and have a good backend reaction. I'd like it to be a ball that I can get left of all the track players in leagues. I can get it in and stay in and it'll hold and hit. I can get in, swing out, and it comes back. Asking for a lot, I know.

I Throw about 17-18 mph, decent amount of revs. I don't know a lot about my own game I guess. Tilt, etc...

I like the way my sr2 reacts at 75x4.5"x50, pin up, p3 hole, maybe p4 actually. How would the ball react with that drilling?

I have been seeing good results with the 60x20@4.5" for slightly speed dominant folks. Place the hole after you throw it to fine tune the reaction.
