i was told that you can void the warranty on a bowling ball by drilling too close to the pin. I am about to drill three Motiv bowling balls tomorrow morning. What is Motiv's warranty info? The bowling ball only came with drill pattern suggestions.

Read the Limited 1-year warrenty on the box under the lid.
Void if the ball is pluged, has finger and thumb inserts, bridge less then 1/4 inch, sharp finger holes with out being beveled or sanded, finger or weight holes closer then 1 inch to the pin, or general abuse of the ball.
Call Motiv for more info.
We haven't had much trouble but motiv is pretty good about helping you out if their is an issue. Way better then others let me say.

To reiterate what captnmike says;
the two most important things you can pay attention to is to:
1. stay at least 1 inch from the pin with any hole; if you need to be close to the pin, move your layout enough to punch the pin out completely.
2. bevel every hole; sharp edges are weak points that are opportune starting points for spiderwebbing and cracking in the cover.
