Dear Motiv-nation,

I'm looking at a Qz for my next purchase to fill in a small gap with my current line-up. I do not know what would best fit the gap as far as the Qz line goes.

My stats/layouts are
5-1/8" right 13/16 up

5-10 degree axis and 30-35 degree rotation

revs 320-350
speed 17-19.5 (depends on condition)
avg 218+

lane conditions 36' oil (medium lay) house shot

i currently start out with either the Sr2 or Gt1 depending on how they roll in warm-ups. I line up at 15 and toss 10 to 8 to start. Move 2 boards later as line drys out and keep 10 to 6. If i start with Gt1 first game i go with the Sr2 second game do to transition. As the third game starts (depends on who is tossing the same line) i may move another 3-4 boards left and toss 12 to 8. If i need to move any more i have to go with a brunswick copperhead and move another 5 boards and toss 15 to 8. I would rather go with a weaker ball and keep a similar line to what i was throwing. My Recon is just to squirly at this point, but does work well when they dry up more in late league.

Im looking for a Qz to fill in the gap between the Sr2 and the Recon. Either a Qz1 or the Qz2. What option would be best for my situation (kinda have my mind set on the Qz2 but will go with whats best fit) Also I have never had a dual angel layout done and would like a suggestion for that as well.

My current layouts are below.

If you like the shapes, but just want fewer boards, or more skid before the ball reads, a QZ2 with the same layout as your GT1 should do the trick. You can adjust the surface or add a hole as needed to fine tune the breakpoint.

I would say that out of these balls I enjoy and get more out of the Sr-2. It carrys more time on the lane the my Gt1 can during a transitional period. Don't know if that matters.

QZ2, pin in the ring finger. It'll nestle itself nicely between the SR2 and Recon. Easy length with a hard arc on the back. We can fine tune with a hole placement, so place the CG out a bit to keep it legal with no hole but leave enough side to accommodate a hole.

It will probably end up near to a 60x55@5", I could be more precise if I had a ball to draw lines on here at home.

I concur! Just drilled my QZ2 w/ring finger thru the pin & CG on centerline just below the mid-line & I l-o-v-e i-t !!!! Great length w/solid, hard arch off the pattern. Not only did it work very well on my THS but also used it on a Dick Weber pattern. Had to slow it down alittle but had nice read/reaction. Could possibly be my first ball out of the bag on all patterns 40' or less.

QZ2 for sure...... quick ? for you, it appears as though everything is laid out almost identical? why if you don't mind me asking?

I like pin up late reacting balls. With only having one each and as such not being able to experimant with different layouts, I figured (due to the balls themselves being different strengths) that they would all read about the same and allow for smaller movements on the approch. My copperhead is laid out differently as the pin is kicked to the side alittle more. I love and trust my driller, he just does not know this equipment, so I made the suggested locations. But for this new ball I wanted to try something different and be able to offer up a layout to him. If Justin puts lines on one and comes up a little different then suggested, please inform. I've been shooting the best from the time I switched to Motiv. And I want to keep winning our league brackets with this gear!

I think the qz2...the combo on this ball is awesome. everyone says its for drier patterns but ive had great success with it. Clears the heads with ease and pending on the layout the ball can be very angular. I love my qz2 more then my qz1r but thats becuase the layout matches up almost perfect for me.

Not sure i am posting this in the right place but do not see where to post this type question. If it should be somewhere else let me know.

I installed beta 4 and so far am happy with it and slowly getting to know its workings. But i do not see how to change the Navigation tabs at the top. What i would like to do is switch the whats new to the first tab and make that the home page and then change the title of "home" to "articles" Can this be done from the control panel or does it need to be done thru something like Macromedia?

If I can do it from the control panel which would be great how do i do that? I am not real good with this stuff but am not hopeless either lol.

Thanks for any help
