Can anyone tell me if my logic seems correct here?
I just got a Sigma Tour, and I'm getting a Thrash this week.
My ST is laid out with a basic leverage drilling, and OOB surface. I love the way it moves, and want my Thrash to mirror the movement, but in a weaker ball.
The Thrash seems to roll early and very arcy, but I want it to read more like a "control" ball, clean through the heads with a strong arc in the midlane/backend. So, I was going to drill it pin up above ring, and CG kicked out a about 1". I was also going to take it to 2000 Abralon to help it get some length.
I've got a mid/high track, about 16 mph, around 275 rpm.

Why not put in a similar drilling to the Sigma, but with a longer pin placement. I would agree that tweaking the surface will be good, but 2000 may not be enough for length. You can always start there and if it isn't enough, either grit up (take it to 3000 or 4000), or add a bit of polish. Try it first to see how they compare.
Let us know the results.
