All you needed to do was eliminate thought #4 in your "old thinking routine" and you'd have been ok! :D

My question is if your are a right hander on a 4 step app is it best for ball speed with a natrual swing to syart on the right foot with an immediate push away with the ball?

In the early stages of learning how to bowl, yes. And it all depends on where you start your ball when your set in your stance. Around your lower chest is normal, north of that will generate more swing and more speed, and south will result in slower ballspeed. Even extreme power players still use this method.

In the later stages of bowling, a power player's swing will be slightly behind their approach, as their legs are generating power. I can't explain this process, I just learned it from practice. Maybe someone else can put it into words better than I.

I haven't applied the shift bowl technique specifically, merely following Ray's coaching. I really need to learn how to turn my head off and just bowl, over thinking is my downfall.
