Justin~ my first Primal is laid out 70*x5"x30*, with OOB finish. I would like to drill another, to replace my Reign. I have noticed a difference in degree and pap-pin distances required for a satisfactory reaction when compared to Storm products; would you recommend a 65*x6x25* with a 4000 and PGP finish, possibly with a p1 hole for a skid/snap reaction? If not, what would you recommend? Pap is 5 1/8 over and 1/2 up, tweener, medium speed. Thx

The Reign will be a tough one to duplicate being Storm's flippiest ball, but you can get close. You're on the right track with 4k and PG Polish for surface prep. I wouldn't use a 6" pin with a 25 degree VAL angle though, that's asking for a lot of forward roll.
I'd do a 50x40@5.5". You could end up with with a sizable P1 hole, but I would throw it first.
I have found that really small VAL angles often tend to smooth these balls, almost like they dump all of their energy almost instantly.
The most angular Primal I have hass a 45* VAL angle. The 45x45@5" P1 hole one.

@rccharger I see a very nice combo of early lope, with a nice midland correction, transitioning into a strong charge on the back end.
@Justin Thanks for the advice. I hope to pick up another in feb, shave a little more time to think about it. It looks like 50 by 5 1/2 by 40 will do the trick with the right surface and hole. Thx

I just drilled up my Primal & took Justin's advice & drilled it 45x4.75x45. This put my ring finger thru the pin which creates a reaction that I typically like. Only threw it about a dozen times but I definitely liked the reaction. Although the Thrust core has been popular w/many, it is not my favorite. However, w/this coverstock it gave me a stronger mid-lane & sharper b/e than I got w/the TX1, TZ3, or TR2. I will throw it more next week & tweak the coverstock w/1000 grit (maybe even 500!) to see how much I can get out of the ball. It is a darn good looking ball !!

Justin- I am looking for both a game 1 ball, to fight the puddle, and a game 2/game 3 ball to fight the transition; what is your opinion of taking that 70*x5x30*, polishing the pi$$ out of it to create the length/snap reaction, and then drilling a second Primal 45*x4.5"x45* for the puddle ball?
BTW @Bob I am in the same boat as you; the Thrust core wasn't a big favorite for me, either. This ball makes it better, tho'. I wonder... With a higher rg, and lower diff, would the Recon core plus the Vicious pearl cover make a super snappy ball????... RV2 anyone? (just wondering out loud...)

I would be wary of polishing the hell out of it unless you intend to use on some friction.
For the puddle ball use 50x42@4.25". Throw it first with no hole and box surface and we'll dial it in if required.
