I need to get more length out my RX1 (orange) and am therefore going to take it in and have it polished. Can anyone give me an idea of what I can kind of additional length I can expect after polishing?

Depends on the polish used. Some polishes have slip agents, some are just compounds. Do you know what polishes your shop has to use?

I don't know, but my guess is they have Storm and Brunswick products since that's their bread and butter. Also, I still have some Ebonite Factory Finish polish left in my bag that I could let them use.

Time to get some Power Gel Poilish in there!

If they have Storm, use Step #3. If they have Brunswick, High Gloss Factory Finish. If they have both, I'd give the nod to Step#3, if that isn't long enough go over the top with High Gloss.

Indeed. I got the Ebo stuff for my Hammers, but they've all gone by the wayside except for the Hot Sauce. I have the PG Clean in the bag, just not the polish yet.

What do you think for length - another few feet?

Step 3 will be good for 1.5'-2', High Gloss over Step 3 will probably get you 3'-4'.

PG Polish would be around 3'.

Not only will you see a bit more length, I cut almost five boards of total hook from my RX1 orange 60x4.5x30.

Good luck!!!

If I can get more length and cover fewer boards I'm sold. (Doesn't that sound strange these days?...)

I need more of a gap between the RX1 and the TX1 and this sounds like the answer. I'll definitely have it polished before I hit the lanes again.

I had the RX1 polished got a chance to try it out. It made all the difference in the world. I'm getting a lot more length now. This reaction is way better than the box finish.

All the shop had was Storm's Extra Shine polish so that's what the ball got. Not sure how that compares to what Justin recommended, but I'm getting more additional length than the 3 feet or so folks thought I'd get.

Much happier with the ball now.
