Can anyone tell me how much difference(if any) there is between abralon pads and siaair pads? is one more abrasive than the other?

One should not be more abrasive than the other . . 1000 grit should be 1000 grit regardless. However, it is my experience that the Siaair pads last longer, thus give you a 'truer' cut more often than the Abralon pads. That's what I have found.

I have seen the same trend as Bob, the grits are equivalent but the Siaair pads have a longer lifespan.

I agree with the previous posts. SaiAir last longer and give a better cut. I try to rinse out my used pads on a regular basis and will change grits with a sharpie after a while. 500 to 1000, 1000 to 2000 etc. These things aint cheap!
