Is there a maximum diameter or depth a weight hole can or should be or does it not matter if you get it to legal side weight. thanks for the reply

Maximum diameter is 1.25" across. You have to be careful when pitching larger holes to not make an elliptical hole too large.
When you can see through it, you have gone too deep. Going past the center of the ball is counterproductive to removing static weight. Generally the deepest I'll ever go is 4".
Now if I ever find myself in a secret underground laboratory, I may end up experimenting. lol
