Hello all! New here to motivnation. I currently have a gt1 and love the hit off this ball! I've been throwing it now for about 1 to 1-1/2 years now on 2 to 3 different leagues.
I am a right handed 14-15 mph low rev bowler. I started throwing my gt1 the same as all my bowling balls ( ebonite game breaker, Storm virtual energy ) 2nd dot from right throwing to 2nd arrow, Just a typical down and in shot. Early this year I decided I wanted more "angle" to the pocket. So I took a 3m scotchbrite pad to my gt1 and roughed it up a bit. Now I'm standing center dot and throwing to between 1st and 2nd arrow. That fixed what I needed. More "angle" to the pocket.
I guess my question is what drill patteren would I want to look at for a cruel? I'm not big on changing the finish to get the ball to hook more( nor do I clean or wipe off my ball befor each shot....Come to think of it....I dont clean my ball! )
I dont know crap about my drill patteren I was told when the guy drilled it, It was a typical patteren for a down and in with a strong backend.
All I can do is show a few pics of the patteren and let you folks try to steer me in the right direction. And I thank you for this!

What format layout does your driller need? Dual angle, or Pin Buffer?

That stuff I'm not sure of. He had a tournament this weekend and was suppoed to talk to a guy on the prostaff about the Cruel. He just got a primal ( which he let me throw....209 1st game  ) I was throwing that the same as my GT1 and it rolled very nice but just didnt pack the punch my GT1 has. Would it be drilled the same as my GT1? He said that he could tweak the angle of the CG a bit but he didnt want to get crazy with it, Which I agree as long as it has a bit more hook and hard hitting backend Im fine with what ever.

A Cruel drilled the same as your GT1 will be smooth in the midlane with not much backend. I would highly recommend using a different drill pattern. Because of your speed dominance, I would suggest a 55x30@4" layout. If your driller needs a different format please let me know. Throw it before placing a hole, if you are happy with how it reacts simply place a P2 hole.

If any of this needs clarification, please let me know.

you think think 14-15mph is speed dominant?

In this case yes. The fact that he can throw a dull GT1 down and in like this implies speed dominance. You can throw it 8MPH and have the ball rotate 3 times as it travels down the lane and be speed dominant.

The key is the ratio of ball speed and revolutions. In this instance he is speed dominant, so the layout is adjusted to fit that criteria.

A 60x20@3.25". The adjustments aren't drastic, the Cruel has a happy zone for layouts.
