The more I learn from this website, the more I'm starting to think that all of my layouts are wrong. I am working on getting my PAP, speed and rev rate so I can confirm. If I am correct, what steps do I take? Plug and re-drill? Looking for any advice here.

Plug and re-drill will be your best option. The ball I just used was plugged and re-drilled. Shot 2249 for 9 games.

I'd say it was the right choice to make. If something isn't working the way you want it to after surface adjustments and hand positions, then plug and re-drill. Find the lay out that works best for you.

Lock down your tilt, rev rate, speed, rotation, and PAP.

Also have all your current layouts and hole placements accurately measured.

Compile your surface preps as well.

Once you have this information, we can do a full analysis. Based on the accuracy and completeness of this information, we can guide you.

Often moving a hole or adjusting surface can help alot, but until I know what you have currently I can't precisely guide you.

Justin is truly the Grand Poobba of ball layouts. Stan - if your ball driller did not watch you bowl AND calculate your PAP, you may want to think about switching drillers. How many balls have your purchased from him? How many balls did you bring in to have him drill? In other words, how much money have you spent there? Buying/drilling a plastic balls for spares is one thing but I always check a persons ball speed & PAP when they are buying mid-to-high end equipment. This info is very important in getting the layout accurate.

In my area, there is no one throwing Motiv equipment. The guy that drilled my first 3 balls (TR2, SR2, GT1) did not calculate any of those things that Justin mentioned.

Just based on a few people I've talked to on this board, I'm pretty sure my layouts will be out of wack. I am in process of getting all of that information. Once I get it, you guys will be the first to know.

Thanks.

I have a Cruel and Cruel LE on order. I should be getting my tilt, PAP, speed, rev rate and rotation locked down tonight and will post them up.

All balls are still in the out of box condition and I will probably keep them that way based on my experiences with drillers in this area so far.
