So since I'm not having very much luck with the drillers in this area, I'm trying to learn how to calculate all this stuff on my own. I found this website:

http://bowlspot.com/page/pap

So once I mark where my PAP is, how do I give you the measurement?

Tilt - Medium track (do you need actual degrees of tilt)?
Speed - 15-17mph
Rev Rate - Still workin on this
PAP - ???

Is there anything else needed to give me recommendation on layouts? I should get my rev rate this week.

I will need recommendations on everything I own since they don't really feel right: TR2, GT1, SR2, Cruel, Cruel LE.

My suggestion is that you go into one of the pro shop places and see if they got the armadillo measurement tool you can borrow for a few minutes.

That'll make it easy to actually get the measurements down if you found your PAP right now.

Justin or some of the others on here might know of a quicker or better way to get that info for yourself if you don't have access to that tool.

By the way, how are you figuring up your rev rate? Just curious if you are using the video that Justin uploaded on how to figure it out or if you were going another route.

Thanks, I'll ask around.

Basically the same thing that Justin found. This is just a nice plug-n-play website on those bowling measurements.

I know realized what website that was and I got the iPhone app that allows you to record all your games and upload it to the website.

It also has the little tools to figure out speed and rev rate from your phone as well.

I guess I would have to do this soon to figure out my own.

Do you use that website to keep track of your games or no?

This:

http://wiki.bowlingchat.net/wiki/index. ... =Main_Page

is the most concentrated and accurate source of information in regards to bowling balls anywhere on teh internet.

And armadillos aren't as accurate as you would think.

Where are you located Stan?

Decatur, IL.

The only pro shop around here (according to the pro shop locator) is in a small town about 17 miles south of Decatur (300-400 people in the town). I have a few co-workers that are from and bowl there. They have recommend to go anywhere else but there to get your balls drilled.

Stan,
I know it is far enough away, but there are plenty of good drillers all around you. You just may have to drive a bit.

If you haven't had an answer yet to your PAP measuring, here is a quick description.

You have to have a couple of pieces of equipment to make this work, though. You need a quarterscale (Turbo 2n1 makes the one I use), and a span gauge (I have one from the Storm website, about $11 I think).

Reply to this if you have these or not, and we can proceed!

Thanks.

I'll take any driller information I can get. Any distance. I drive to Tallahassee, FL and back on a consistent basis (14hrs) so driving isn't an issue.

I don't have any of the equipment you listed. Still new to bowling, still learning.

Thanks.

If you make that drive on a consistent basis, I'd say your best odds are finding something in St. Louis or Indianapolis. Do some googling.
