I have a SX1 with a 5 1/2" pin.A SR2 with a 4 1/2" pin and a Red QZ1 with a 5'' pin.I don't know how they found them, but it took a couple weeks for each.I have not drilled any of them yet. Waiting for the right time or tournament. But it's nice to know that they are there for me.

Jay, the SR2 comes OOB at 2000 with polish, have you adjusted the cover already?, if not taking it to 2000 will just remove the polish already on the ball, with the polish gone you should get a stronger reaction if you keep it in the oil, but your also going to get an earlier reaction if you hit out of the oil.

With such a finger loaded layout your best option is a surface adjustment. You could potentially take the fingers to china, but you may not be able to get enough mass in the thumb quadrant to place a hole in the proper position. The other option is to use a hole on the axis to create a weaker reaction and shine it for mediums.
I would hit it with 1k or 2k Abralon first and see what happens. A surface adjustment will have the most impact on the resulting reaction. A P3 or P4 hole would give it some added diff and a bit more steady reaction at the breakpoint. As will surface.
Your observations are in line with the layout.
Tap it with 1k, if it doesn't finish hit it with 2k. If that doesn't work pop a hole on axis and 1k and power gel polish it.

Well, I didn't change the coverstock, but my driller put a hole in the ball. I'm not sure what "quadrant" that lies in, but it's down, about 3" right of my thumbhole. The ball seemed to react a lot better, I must say. I had 635 tonight, and, really I had only myself to blame. I was a little inaccurate, and I missed three ten pins. The ball read correctly, and never did over-react either. I still played left of the track, swinging out, but I was able to get a reaction if I kept it in. Before, when keeping the ball in, the ball wouldn't react. So, we'll see. That's the trouble with bowling once a week, too. I won't get another chance to see if I like the reaction for another 7 days! Thanks for the advice, everybody. I'll remember the coverstock advice that was given in case this ball still needs some work.

A hole low like that will kick up the diff a bit, giving you a stronger overall reaction. Glad it rolled better for you.
