I'm a senior stroker and recently purchased a SR2, my 1st Motiv ball. I wanted a different look and had it drilled a basic symmetric layout 2, mid-lane hook & backend. The pin is under my ring finger. I have a high track, PAP is 5 1/4 over 1/2 up. Bowl on mostly THS, occasional tourny with a little more oil or sport shot.

Although I have had a couple of good sets and high games in the 3 weeks I've had it, I was having a lot of trouble in transition & carry down. I had the surface changed to 2000 abralon and tried it in practice on fresh oil. It was more consistant for me and I got a good read but it seemed to roll rather than finish at the break point.

Any suggestions on other surface options, 1000 w/polish, 4000 abralon, or whatever would be appreciated. I hate to plug it up, but will if its in the bag more than out.

Does your SR2 have a weighthole?


The easiest would be to try 1000 and PGPolish, if that is better but not enough, then 500 and polish could be tried.

Yes, the weight hole is approx. 3 1/2 over and 1 1/2 under the thumb.

I think I'll try the 1000 w/PGPolish, thanks for the response.
