Absolutely, Brian. I don't dual angle everything either. I'm sorry if it seemed like I was saying that there was a wrong way to drill a ball.

No nothing came off like that, I just think it is great that there is different ways to do something.

You think the dual angle gets you were you wanna be easier and I think it is more difficult thats all, fact is we both get were we want or a customer wants to be, and that is all that matters.

I have used the dual angle a couple times, just not my thing.

Majority of customers just say they want hook so thats what they get, to bad thats were we are but that is todays game.

And I love talking about this as well.

As always stay MOTIVated!!!!!

I will use whatever it takes to get the desired reaction I am looking for.
But I hear what everyone it talking about. Most people just want to see the ball hook and are not interested in any drilling that might confuse them.
So making it simple helps. Also how great is this ,discussing things
and no one getting insulted.WOW!

I just like hearing different ideas and exchanging knowledge, without
childish bickering. Not everyone is going to be alike in what drilling
or balls they like. This stuff is not life or death, just a sport that should
be enjoyed.

I am going to say this is a very informative and friendly discussion among people. I am not use to seeing people express their opinions without someone argueing or trying to belittle them either so my hats off to those here on the site.

I will agree with both of you on dual angle or not to dual angle. It is pretty much up to the customer and if we can get them what they want with one or the other than so be it. I myself use dual angles to fine tune for specific reactions for my customers. People have thrown my stuff and they don't see the same reaction as when I throw and it is becasue of the difference in pap, rev rate, and even ball speed. So like I said I agree with you both because it is about the customer in the overall.

Well that would just be un-called for and pointless, and would not help anyone. But I am glad to see this, too. Some of these people who expressed their opinions made me go to my pro-shop guy and ask questions about this, since I'm not a driller myself, and he answered and explained to me what everything you guys are talking about is. Thank you to all those who put your opinion out there and it has helped me a lot.

IMHO, you can't completely subscribe to one theory. Too many variables. I use dual angle when I need to be very scientific and analytical. I use standard drilling patterns when customers request one off the sheet. Sometimes I even listen to a ball when it speaks to me and place the lines accordingly.

It's an art, and a very fun and technical one at that. :ugeek:
