here's a video i took of 2 recon's with different layouts on a broken down league shot. They are a little stronger than I thought they would be but they are AWESOME. They still give me somthing weaker and smoother than the rest of the lineup. After I'm able to put out the cheetah or some other short tough pattern and post video's of that shortly. Enjoy.

Will have a Recon video from the left side very soon. Most likely tomorrow. So will post it when I am finished with it.

The video of my Motiv Recon RX1 is now up on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clQev-KaK6c

I drilled two, one with a boomer layout, and the other 70x4.5x30. Check out the crazy difference, at least five boards.

ok .... just for my knowledge, what is the "boomer layout". I saw the video and the pin was below the thumb, but why??? What does this drill do differently than a standard long, pin up or pin above middle (righty) finger?

Theory goes, drilling the thumb into the top of the weight block takes a larger chunck of the weight block out, thus making the ball more Symmetrical, and lessen the differential. With the Pin closer to the track also hampers the ball from revving up (unlike pin close to axis drillings). Here is the link that I read a while back after watching the world series of bowling when I found out that Rhino Page used it to win the Viper Champ.

The RX1 is the first ball I've ever drilled with the layout, and so far I like what I see.

Good luck,

Michael

Fellow Staffers and Motiv Nation:

I've completed my first video review. RX1 with the TZ3 as a comparison ball. I am anxious to get to use the RX! on some of the lighter wood THS I bowl on in the winter, and it's going to come in handy on the last couple of games of long block tournament (for you folks from the Ville, can you say the WAR). I'm impressed wit the hitting power of the ball. In my experience, less aggressive balls (for burnt heads) don't keep their deliver the power at the pins. This one does.

Please feel free to critique a guy with his AARP card and little balls speed left. First video review I've ever done.

DB-Again Drilled it just like the TZ3!

That is the purpose of that drilling, but if you take a big chunk out of the top of that core, you're going to be left with very little core. Lowering that low a diff. is an interesting move for sure! I would track over the middle of the thumb!

  that is something i couldnt pull off with that ball :D
