Added an SX-1 to my group of retired MOTIV balls. My QZ1 is perfect for Sat night but goes too long on Thurs night. I was thinking of drilling this at 45 X 35 @ 3 1/2 sanded at 1k with PG Polish. I want this to fit over my QZ1 and under my SR2. Do you guys think this will work. I love the reaction of my QZ1 and want this to complement it but read the midlane more. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My only comment would be that the VAL angle being different than that of your SR2.

Why not mirror the SR2 layout, but adjust the surface to make the tweak to the breakpoint?

Thanks for your 2 cents. Its a another good plan. Would the same layout as the SR2 but polishing the SX-1 and putting a p3 hole if it goes too long make sense?

I would still try tweaking the underlying grit that you leave under the polish to get the breakpoint where you want it. Justin said something very cool in a post the other day- surface prep and differential can have some of the same effects, but surface is reversible.
