I have a pretty good understanding now of what the P 1-4 holes can do to ball reaction. I have heard "put a hole 2" down the VAL" quite often. Can someone explain what this hole will do to a balls reaction and how it would be different from a P hole?
I picked up a used Sigma Tour that will need a weight hole but I will throw it for a bit first. I just want to know all my options before making a decision.

justin wrote this answer to me about the 2 inch down the Val question. answer from justin wi : Earlier first transition, higher diff ratio which results in a shorter length of time between the first and second transitions.
Basically stronger ball motion after the first transition.

It will move the PSA from the thumb area towards the VAL line.

Thank you both for the good info. As it turns out my driller made a mistake and used my Cruel layout, so I don't need a hole to be legal.

Its a used ball but I'm sure will get it tuned.

A hole 2" down the VAL from the midline is a placement only used in symmetrical balls. In effect, it drags the PSA away from the thumb reducing the drilling angle, promoting an earlier read.

does putting the hole 2" down the VAL from the midline make the psa move the most without the ball rolling over it? Does it have the same effects of on differential as a p3 hole? And also just for the hell of it would a hole 2" up the VAL from the midline shift the low rg axis?
