Looking for some help picking a new Motiv arsenal for current seasons.

Moved to new area, and bowling in 3 very different houses, and struggling with consistent results, especially during tansition stage.

One house is very erratic with oil, or lack of, varies from floods to dry week to week. And this is on new, synthetic lanes.

The other two houses are "fresh' THS, wood surface, and my troubles are all in game 2 where carry goes away. Fine first and third for getting lined up and carry the corners, just middle game is always worse one of the set.

I would like to get some advice on ball(s) and layouts, and surface if required.

More about me, bowled over 30 years, averaged 200 when balls had pancake cores, and can adapt to changing technology.

P.A.P. 5 1/2 right 0 up or down
Speed: 15.7 on monitor - synthetic house and 14.3 at wood
Rev. rate: 340 - 360
Axis Rotation: 50 degrees
Axis Tilt: 7.3 degrees

Currently using blue Vibe, pin over ring, cg in palm, polished and Full Swing pin 3" from P.A.P, cg in palm, and MB left of thumb in track, polished over 1500.

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

How many balls are you planning on drilling?

Would like to do 2 balls, one for fresh condition on synthetic lanes, and the other would be for fresh on wooden lanes. I think synthetic ball would require more surface than the other. I could use what I have to compliment Motiv balls, but would prefer to use my weakest ball fo light patterns, and drill others for fresh medium to heavy. Would like to be able to get through the transition stage with better carry and scores. Seem to leave a lot of corners or 9 pins, and at times pocket 7 - 10's after transition starts.

I have a couple of ideas, but I want to see what Justin offer, too. Your struggles in the early part of the transition are familiar to me, too, and I have found that the Atomix cover seems to blend it out fairly well. Sounds like you lose carry when the track just starts to open up, giving you a somewhat familiar move as compared to the fresh, but the ball is starting much sooner than you perceive, and the back end motion is given to early burn.
My guess would be a polish-added stronger layout on a Sigma Tour, like a 55 by 4 1/2" by 40 degree, or depending on the strength of the Primal Impulse, possibly a PI drilled 65 by 5 by 45, finished at 3000 abralon. I'm going to give the latter a try later this month, so here's to good results to both of us!

Thanks for input and ideas, as we seem to have similar issue. I will wait for Justin to reply but will also consider your thoughts.

Rev dominant and low tilt. I would start with:

Sigma Tour: 60x35@5.5" No hole.
Backdraft: 60x55@5.25" No hole to start.

Stat with both box surface, can easily tweak that.

SigT will tip nicely, the Backdraft will read with a consistent arc. Can supplement this with a Primal impulse and/or Raptor depending on how these match up for you.
