OK, I've ordered my 15# Sigma Tour 3-4" pin 3oz top weight. This will be my benchmark ball. What is a good base drilling based on my stats below? Thanks in advance!!!

Really going to depend on your tilt-- trace your initial track (oil line). Then, measure the diameter of the circle you created by tracing your initial track. Please report that diameter measurement back to us.
Tilt is an important ingredient in determining the strength of your roll, or how quickly your delivered ball will burn off the rotational energy you apply to the ball. Once that number is figured, the layout will become easier to dial in with more certainty.

OK... I measured out at about 12", which according to the table on bowlingchat.net, puts me at 10*. So what kind of drilling will give a controllable benchmark ball?
Thanks in advance!

50x45@5" hole 2" down the VAL. You may want to lightly scuff with 1k Abralon to combat the 90* of rotation. High rotation low tilt players are some of the toughest to match with resin equipment.

Is there a particular size and depth of the hole on the VAL? What if my measurement is off by .5" to an inch either way? I don't have an armadillo or any such tool, so I would like to verify with my pro shop guy before I get it drilled. Thanks so much for your help!

Start smaller and increase the size and depth of the hole to increase its impact on the ball motion. 7/8 2" deep to start.

Does that mean that 50x45@5" hole 2" down the VAL is valid even if my tilt changes up to 1" either direction?

With Justin's layout, I was only able to use the ST in the first game as the lanes were pretty dry. Probably shouldn't even have used it then, but I had NBS. Shot a 204... That was with missing 2 10 pins, one of them being in the 9th. Had to switch to my Silver Recon the rest of the way. 2nd game 188, leaving a 7 from a 1-2-4-7 cover attempt and a 6-7-10 split. Third game 224, missed a 10 pin and a 9 pin cover. I can't wait to get the ST out on some oil!
