Hi, I drilled both balls according to your recommendation. The Backdraft is a great ball but I have problems with the SigT.
On every condition (except fresh oiled lanes just for me before practice) and on different lanes (old, new, middle aged) the Sigma Tour is about 3 feet to short.
I tried a ton of different starting positions, increase of speed, different hand positions but so far I was not able to get it to the pocket constantly. My guess is that 85% of the shoots are on the Brooklyn side of the Headpin.
What would you recommend for increasing length? Taking it to 4000 Abralon or apply polish? Or both? Don't like to redrill it if possible. I don't have a real pro-shop in town and no access to a ball-spinner and before sending the ball away I would like to have some input what could be done.
Thanks for your help.

Well, I'm not Justin, but I'll take a shot.
You can do one of two things- 1. Make sure you have the correct size hole for your x-hole; the larger the hole, the more the increase of differential (meaning the sooner the more the ball will flare). If you are happy with how much flare the ball presents, then 2. I would agree that if you are 'stuck' with the layout/hole size you have, a surface change would be much easier. I would definitely try the new surface, but do this- * cut the surface with 500 abralon on 4 sides, 15 seconds each side; * do 2000 grit on 4 sides for 25 seconds each side; * do 4000 grit on all 6 sides for 30 seconds per side; * finish with Power Gel Polish to a light luster.
This should gain you some length over your current setup. Good luck! Alles gut!

Thanks Mick.
Would like to try all helpful surface changes before the last option (refill and a new drill). Will talk to my ball driller the other day. Let's see what his recommendation will be.
Have a great day. Alles Gute!

4k and shine will easily get the ball 3' farther downlane then box surface, I would try that first.
