I had my Recon drilled with the length & backend layout. It is just too aggressive. Once it grabs, it goes. It almost acts like a skid/flip. What can I do to tame it down a bit? Would like a more controlled arc type of motion. Could a "P" hole alleviate this? Where would the hole need to be? Thanks in advance!

You really have two options; one of them being a "P" hole, and the other would be a surface change.

JustinWi put it so eloquently that both methods can bring about the targeted change in ball motion, but the surface change is much easier to 'undo' or make other changes to either enhance or retard the effect.

Try breaking the polish first; maybe put a 2000 grit finish on it. Experiment with going down in grits until you get the reaction shape you're looking for.

A P3 or P3.5 hole is the other solution, as it sounds to me. I'd go with the surface first, though. I only go with the x-hole in the event a ball is too squirty or over-under in my circumstance. Again, the surface change is usually the most simple way to accomplish what you're looking for.

Good luck!

OOB is 4000 WET SAND / POWER GEL POLISH. You want me to just sand it down to 2000? No polish after? @2000 if is not breaking enough, do I go down to 1000? Do I go the other way if it's still breaking too much? Would polish just change the length after I settle on which grit? I'm really new to surface changes. Thanks for your help.

The reason you are seeing a large back end is because the ball is storing so much energy, and then releasing it quickly once it starts to encounter friction. The reason behind sanding it is to let the ball start bleeding off rotational energy sooner, and thus *hopefully* smoothing the reaction.@2000 if is not breaking enough, do I go down to 1000? Do I go the other way if it's still breaking too much? Yes, I agree.Would polish just change the length after I settle on which grit? Polish will get it to store just to unleash again. you could try 1000 or 2000 with polish if you weren't happy with the results of sanding it alone. Nothing wrong with experimenting to learn!I'm really new to surface changes. Thanks for your help.
Hope to/Glad to be of help.
