Hey Justin, I've noticed you recommend alot of small val angle drillings? Just curious what your thought process is? I've found that larger val angles help with continuation through the pin deck and reduced 7's 8's and 10's. Of course I have above average tilt so lower angle ratios work for me burning off tilt. I've never drilled anything with a 20* val ratio but I believe that will make the ball rev up very quickly and being very aggressive off the spot. Any thoughts you have would be appreciated as I by no means think I have all the answers...lol.

Smaller VAL angles promote a faster response to friction, a combination of lager drilling angles and smaller VAL angles promote a longer and stronger reaction to help open up house shots. If the layout is requested for tougher shots like the Kegel patterns, Sport Shots, and PBA Experience patterns, higher angle sums and larger VAL angles are used. Each layout recommendation is based on the specific situation presented.

That makes alot of sense. That type of drilling would definitely give a typical league bowler more area on a house shot. And I agree completely every situation is different. If Mo hammers anything into your head it is get ALL the required info before coming up with a layout...lol. The last time I chatted with him I think he wanted ball speed, tilt, rotation, rev rate, pap and I think first borns birthday! Thanks for the response.

I have been fortunate to have enough background information from folks here to make recommendations confidently.
I have studied layout theory under direct tutelage from Mo for several years, he is an incredible resource for knowledge of the game and equipment, and is never stingy with it.
