Justin,DB, Brett....any of you guys.

Have you polished a Recon yet? I have'nt drilled the second one, and was wondering if you guys have tossed on any polish. This is an awesome ball, went through 4 in the shop over the weekend, and gave one away. I have back to back patterns coming up, Viper, then Cheetah.

Thanks.

My 2 are out of the box, if you are on burn some polish might help it push a foot or two further.

I polished both of my recons for different conditions, for instance I took my strong drilled recon to 2000 polish for my local house shot.

House background:
HPL 9000 lanes (four years old)
Kegel Kustodian ION oiling machine
Kegel offence HV oil
Kegel Main Street oil pattern (pulled back to 40 foot)

What everyone runs into is shot burn up, and quick. It starts out great, then WOW gone in a game. I start between third and forth arrow with my QZ1 2000 Polished, then when I see it checking early, or have to make large moves I switch to the strong RX1 polished and stay in the same spot and keep the same reaction. The polish helps it get the ball through the mids, and the excessive friction evens out the balls reaction. I Like using the Polished RX1s when I have midlane friction. I did the same on the scorpion pattern (different house) the last two weeks and did vary well. The wonder of the RX1 is its versatility, however as Brett reminded me it pulls carrydown like crazy if not used properly. I am practicing on the cheetah this week so I will update what works for me with the boomer and 60x4.5x30, polished and sanded.

Good luck,

Michael

Thanks guys. I'l be drilling my next one a little weaker and adding some polish. Let me know how that "Boomer" lay out works, I was kicking that one around in my head, but I'll probably go hook stop, this ball is stronger than I first thought.
Thanks Again,

Have you ever drilled a boomer before? I learned to keep it 2.5 inches and longer from the thumb cut. I put one at 2.25 and If Im not carefull it clips the thumb, so beware. On that note I like the layout and rolled a 690 on the viper a month ago with it playing right up 5. Check out my vids on youtube I have a few with the RX1 boomer layout. the layout make the weightblock act more like a pancake weightblock, and takes on the characterstics of the coverstock, so be watchfull for the carrydown with the low oil absorbtion of the RX1, and use the ball when you see tons of friction and need the length and a controlled backend. Perhaps on cheetah, use a smother rolling ball then stay in the same spot and use the boomer RX1.

Good luck more info late tomarow night,

Michael

Thanks Mike,

The boomer looks great in your hands. I agree the Recon is stronger than I had originally thought, but it hits SOOOO hard.
We drilled a Midnight Vibe with a boomer and the reaction is really nice. I just haven't put in any of my own balls yet. We drilled 3 Recons in 3 days and everyone just loves this ball. We are Motivating Reno every day. I have to order more, again!
Thanks again,

I've got my Recon on order; I can't wait for it to arrive. I really need something to help when the burn hits; i don't mind playing left of 20 at the arrows, but something calmer may help my consistency, and oh Lord, if it hits like all of the other Motiv pieces--lookout!

Ok finaly got the video ready and uploaded. I noticed that when I sanded the two RX1's down to 1000 I had a nice reaction in the midlane but suffered carry. I didn't try them at 4000 like they come from factory, but I imagine it would be a nice reaction on the cheetah, smooth with pop, yet still keep the great carry I had with the polish. I also threw some shots with my Natural and was convinced that we still need a urethane ball in the Motiv line. The urethane gave me the best of both worlds. Nice midlane read out side 5, and smooth controlled continuation on the backend, with outstanding carry. I didn't put them in the vid b/c it was ment to be all about the RX1s. I'll put one togeather this weekend and post is.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Michael

Thanks man. At least it wasn't Jersey shore style... Haha...

Anyone out in the MotivNation drill up an RX1 with a 2 1/2 pin to pap? Looking for some feedback... I'm missing a short pin to pap in my line up, thinking of plugging the boomer and going with an early smooth layout...

Thanks,

Michael (rockin the brand in Massillon and Wooster Ohio)
