Can someone give me direction on how to combat hot and humid conditions at the bowling alley during league play? Had so many issues last night and I'm not sure what the adjustment is. Helpful comments appreciated.

What, exactly, were you're issues? Was it sticky approaches? Thumb sticking? Sweaty hands? Alot of aspects of the delivery can be effected by hot/humid weather. Just got back from Baton Rouge where those conditions are the norm. Used a Shoe Slide the entire time I was there no matter where I bowled & it worked great. Had no issues w/approaches. To combat thumb sticking, try either opening up your thumb holes & then use tape to adjust the size accordingly (that's what I do) or maybe try either a Turbo Switch Grip or Vise IT thumb inserts w/different size thumbs. I see this alot! Avoid hot liquids just before bowling. I likes me coffee & I have a bad habiti of having it before I bowl which raises internal body temp. & thus causes me to have to make adjustments accordingly. Hope some of these suggestions help.

Thanks for those suggestions. My main issue involved ball reaction, lane play, and scoring pace. What surface and style is best utilized to deal with hot and humid lanes (AMF HPL)?

it stays hot and humid here in Kentucky during the summer. Usually the shot starts out dry and stays dry.

So during the summer I usually just prepare for really dry shots but this year has been excessive.

Last Monday I was throwing my storm natural 20-5 to hit pocket.

So what I would suggest would be to take something that has less surface and/or a weaker drilling.

House I bowl in has heaters in the back for the employees. When they turn them on the backend of the lanes are trash.

you arent running into approach issues are you? if so is it your sole or your heel?

Lots of rosin, stay slow with your feet, open your hand and be open to moving deeper when the condition dictates. Thats what i do. Also, being a larger gentleman, lol!, I carry multiple towels: wipe balls, clean balls, and 2 or 3 for wiping me down.
