I have never paid too much attention to the science of bowling balls. I am a lefty throwing pretty much a straight ball. I was having trouble with my own ball so picked up my teammates Motiv Tr2. Had a great game. His was drilled for a right hand w/ maximum hook. For me it went straight with just a bit of flare at the end. Absolutely sold on Motiv but not sure where to go from here. Thinking I should by a new ball and have drilled for max hook right handed?

Well if it is drilled for maximum hook for a right handed bowler thats probably going to be somewhere like 6 or 6 1/2 inches from your pap which is going to be EXTREMELY far away and without alot of hand it may be hard to get consistent ball reaction on the left side of the lanes. Take it to your local pro shop and have them check your PAP (positive axis point) and they will be able to handle it from there.
As for any questions regarding any of the current bowling balls please feel free to contact me or post on here and someone will surely help you to the best of their knowledge.

Agree with ag,
Being lefty as well, i would say if you want something that goes straighter with a little flare, I'd step to the ascent line, probably the solid, which will give you a consistent look on all lane conditions. Tell you drilling the reaction shape you want and im sure he'll be more than equipped to drill that reaction.
