i would drill you up as a fullroller...the pap is very high, a fullroller will give you all the roll you can handle... Jim hud

I would highly recommend against drilling the ball with a full roller layout. I'll elaborate when I get home to my PC, I only have my Droid right now.

First off. 6.125" over, .25" up is not a full roller axis point. It is merely indicative of a high track, and one with very little tilt. His hand exits the ball very late, almost giving the axis a tip towards the lane.

Secondly, placing the pin according to a full roller layout will make the ball at least flare over the thumb. Because of his high track, pins will generally need to be above the fingers or else the finger holes will be clipped without a bit of hole placement trickery. This could be a limiting factor, but due to his low rotation a ball that transitions fast(low VAL angle) will not be a bad thing.

I have had a few semi-roller customers drill balls with full roller layouts, they go long and are very smooth. The common feedback from them is that you have to hit it at the bottom or it easily misses the breakpoint if the lanes are not torched.

A frame by frame analysis of his release follows:

As you can see above, a very small amount of tilt, and approx 30* of axis rotation is created. This is due to his hand staying in the ball a bit too long, and overturning it. This is however not a full roller.

Based on these factors, appropriate layouts can be chosen.

I'll need just a bit of further information before proceeding.

What is your span?
A pic of the QZ1R?
