I'll tag on to Justin's thread about the Venom Strike. I used mine last night in league and I am seeing the same ball motion and playing basic same line as Justin is in the vid.

Though my stats. are different slower ball speed and lower rev's than Justin I can still play the same trajectory on a 39' 19ml wet/dry house shot. Layout is in the suggest layout topics.

The Venom Strike is a great house shot ball as long as you can move slightly in to catch some head oil with the OOB surface 247. To compare I tried my Primal Scream at transition and it was too strong for the line I wanted to play 180.....I picked up with the QZ2 Pearl in the last game and kept on striking 233.

Looks like Joe Cerar from BJI let the cat out of the bag, when he
commented on the Venom Strike on bowling chat.com.

So,the next MOTIV release will be named the Talon. It's a ball for heavy oil.
Does it have the Raptor graphics, and is grey/silver and yellow.Similar to the TV4.

As always Justin, good stuff and thanks for the explanation on why you chose the balls you did? My offer still stands on that GX1.

The GT1 is far too old to be compared to a current ball in a new release video.

True it is discontinued and it is harder to find them new. To bad it took Motiv a couple years or so to come out with another ball that uses the unique gear core. I believe some companies would try to sell you a new ball to replace your old one when what you buy is not much different but with a fresher coverstock. I hear a lot of the time people saying I'm going to retire this ball and buy that ball. I love my GT1 and don't plan on retiring it for a long time. So I wanted to make sure I don't purchase a ball which is going to make me choose between one or the other. From what I have heard so far I think I can use the Venom Strike when the GT1 reads too early. you make excellent videos so I was disappointed not to see the comparison

I used my Venom in league Tuesday night

It was just too much for my house pattern in out of the box form

I drilled it 5x4 with no hole

I will work on the cover this week

For those who want to see the GT1 compared to the Venom Strike check out Motivgirl's video. She shows the Venom Strike compared to the Thrash and the GT!. Its hard to tell because of the distance from the camera but the GT1 and Thrash look about the same with the Venom Strike a few boards stronger on the dryer lane condition.

It would have also been interesting to see the Venom Strike matched up to the Ascent Solid. If drilled up the same I assume the Ascent would be longer and smoother on lighter conditions. Justin what do you think?
