Thanks. The hook potential on house patterns is somewhat similar but shapes are distinctly different!

Thanks for taking the time and effort to bowl then edit these videos. They are certainly helpful. In this video, however, there doesn't appear to be that much difference in the three balls you chose for the demo on the THS pattern. Under what conditions would one of them be better than the others? One ball looked as good as another. Yes, the shapes were a little different but where you stood and the end results were pretty much the same for all the balls. I mean 2 and 1 board differences between the Intent and the Tribal isn't a lot. Not sure what the Sting offers that isn't already available to us. Why should I buy a Sting?

First, I should have listed in the video that I added polish to that Cruel Intent which allowed it to be cleaner and closer to the other two.
Second, I did try and show more or less the shapes of the balls in this video opposed to hook potential.

The Tribal is the cleanest and most angular for me.
The Sigma Sting length is in between the Tribal and a Cruel Intent.
The Cruel Intent is the soonest and allows for the most hook potential.

So... The reason to BUY a Sigma Sting is that it will sooo allow you to open up a lane. I've already thrown on 5+ patterns and it has been the only ball I've thrown on the fresh since having it. It is the benchmark ball MOTIV is advertising.

Hey, thanks for the clarification Christmas is coming, tra la, tra , la!!! Sounds like the Sting is the ball to start the night, then go up or down as needed. Nice to have a general purpose ball that may last the whole night. Takes a lot of guessing out of bowling and a good purchase to us who can't afford to buy every new ball that comes out. I have a Rage and a Strike so this may be a good ball to go from heavy, Rage, to moderate, Sting, to light, Strike, Go diagonally down the chart from upper right to lower left. Sounds like a great combo. Thanks again for taking the time to do these videos and respond to queries.

Yup, you said it best, this is a general purpose ball! Most of the time (Speaking for me) balls have conditions or floors that they are meant to be played on.

I would say that once again MOTIV has done something that was necessary for their lineup. It also provides a reaction between the last 3 releases with Fusion Pearl Cover (Primal Rage, Tribal, and Cruel Intent) and the older smoother pieces (Raptor Talon, Venom Strike, and Sigma Hybrid).

So although this uses the #redball cover on the 4th straight release we are talking about a completely different shape on this one!
