Is Motiv currently working to correct the problem with a recent batch of Snipers? I've tried to pick one up and all 3 that my pro shop received have all had bumps on the surface and aren't useable. I'd really like to pick one up soon.

Mine arrived today without any issues.

My original Sniper was "terminal", had about 6-8 gnarly tumors all over. Motiv replaced with one that only had one minor tumor (I haven't had it drilled up yet). I think it shouldn't be an issue since it probably will end up near my PAP or somewhere on that side of the ball.

Can any one post a "tumor" picture? I'm curious to see what it they look like.

Can't really see 'em, but feel 'em. I don't think a picture would show much.

Checked three of my favorite on-line retailers today and none of them had Snipers for sale. Makes me think there are production problems.

I think the tumor on my ball (that sounds odd... ;) ), I could probably have it kissed lightly with a plug cutting bit then polish it back up. No one would know but me.

Looks like Sniper has been retired... :( Lucky for me my pro-shop is holding one for me to use in my Nationals Arsenal...

Two things...

1) Is the new Sniper replacing the old Sniper because of production issues with the DMX Polyester?

2) With regards to the "tumors" on the DMX Polyester, I have one and a customer/friend of mine has one too. They both had the tumors. I purchased one from the distributor to replace the other that showed up with tumors. Upon receiving the replacement it too had tumors. Considering it was the last one in 15lbs that they had it left me no choice but to fix the tumors.

So, since I use a router I was able to shave off the tumors, sand, and polish the ball. I gave my buddy his "new" ball which was actually the old one and he had no idea that I had fixed. I also fixed the actual new one and it's great. I don't think I will ever have to get another spare ball.

On a side note, I know that this is off topic but in terms of the formulation on the two solid Urethane offerings, how does the Ballistix differ from the DMX?

About the only thing that could make my Poly Sniper any cooler is the shelf appeal. The Urethane Sniper has that won hands down.
