Currently I have a primal rage with pin in ring finger cg out about an inch. When i need to ball down i go to my tribal drill with pin just above ring finger cg slightly kicked out (maybe 1/2"). My question is in the few times i run into too much oil for my primal rage, what would be a good ball up option for me and drill pattern. I have heard some talk of going up to a sigma sting, i thought maybe a revolt due to surface differance, but accourding to ball guide maybe a cruel intent i throw about 16-17mph pap 5 over 1 up and about 400 rev rate. Any help would be great, want to grab another piece before states this weekend.

I feel the Revolt or Intent would be a better choice than the Sting in this situation. Please ask your Pro Shop to evaluate your needs.

Thanks for the reply., I would check with the pro shop, unfortunately most of the pro-shops in this area can get the equipment. I have only found one that stocks Motiv, and am not convinced any of these shops are familiar enough with the balls or there reactions to give an educated suggestion on which would be best for me.

Its good to know you don't mind drilling the ring finger out. I have found our best reactions on the Revolt are Pin in Ring or Pin down, CG kicked out about an inch.

I have found that the Revolt is a better heavy oil choice, due to the heavy flare and easy surface change of the Turmoil cover. I also have my Venom Shock in-between my Revolt and my Tribal.
That being said, I have ripped the polish off of my Tribal, and I have polished the bejesus out of my Sting, so they do something a bit different than the chart indicates. They are both better for my situation here, finished as such. They are both pin down; and they roll so amazingly well. Very complimentary to each other.

Revolt (pin down, surface at 3000)
Venom Shock (pin down, box surface)
Revolt (Pin above middle finger, surface at box plus Ruff Buff)
Sting (Pin below ring finger, surface at 500, 4000, ruff buff, PGP)
Tribal (Pin below, on center of grip line, surface at 500, 2000)
Ascent Apex (Pin above, on center of grip line, box surface)
GT1 (box, pin at 1:30 from ring finger)
RX1o (pin above middle finger, p3 hole, 4000 grit)

That's my line up. I don't need everything every week, but I have flexibility when they change in a funny way, or when I travel (or during my PBA experience league)

BTW- Never drilled a Rage. I hated my Impulse, hated 2 different Screams. Didn't take a chance with that core again. Probably my loss, as Im sure what I didn't like about the previous Primal incarnations were the covers.

Good luck!
