Had the Primal Rage resurfaced and now it won't turn the corner like when it was new. It was my favorite Motiv ball until then now it hits like a red raspberry. Anybody have luck getting the Rage to react like oob after resurface?

I am no expert at this, but I would question the process/products that were used when resurfacing.

From Justin's Lost Your Reaction post
"He mentioned that they cleaned the ball with a certain cleaner and it seemed to shine up a bit. I suggested cutting with 500/4k because the surface was visually changed, and that sounded suspect. That procedure helped but did not restore the reaction as it was out of the box. I suggested a heavy 360 cut, then 500/4k. This worked."

What Jellert said. This is fairly common in pearls. It's important not to go too many grits when resurfacing. For example, storms guide to achieving their "1500 grit polish" out of box is to start with 500, then 1000, 2000, 4000, then polish. Can guarantee using that process for a resurface, yeah, it's gonna skate like a curling rock until you get some games on it. using 360 pads REALLY gets some new surface on the ball, 500 smooths it out, then take it to the proper grit and add polish. If it helps I just resurfaced my primal rage myself the other day, and went 360, 500, 2000, then polish. It works great.

I use PG Scuff, then 500, then the final grit and/or polish without any issues. I feel it is important to use like brand cleaners on your bowling balls. Tho I do keep a non-motiv spray cleaner in my bag for spot cleaning during play.

You mean that you don't use PG Clean on your balls during play? You should, it's legal to use during play.

The grit rating is 4000 on that ball. Either just work it up to 4000 with no polish or go to 1500 and polish it on low speed. You probably made it too pretty when you resurfaced it.

A friend of mine who no longer bowls gave me a full gallon of the spray cleaner I use, might as well use it.

I cut with a 360 pad, did a PG Scuff oil extraction (read the bottle), then 500, then final cut with a Meguiars Unigrit 1500 finishing pad, and a final polish with PG Polish on high speed.

Hit like a ton of bricks all over again.

Just my 2 Lincolns!
