Justin/Mick,
As you may know I am on the seed staff, and I bowl many local/regional type events. I have an awefull time with REALY slippery approaches. I love my dexter shoes and I am trying desperately to find a couple (if possible) of the S1 replacement soles. I have a couple of houses that the S4 or the S2 still are not enough (I almost need tennis shoes) because they buff the approaches regularly, even with the red horseshoe H1.
If you know of anyone who happens to have one or two in their shop let me know. A friend is sales rep at Classic Products and he can't get them either, so i have to get lucky at a shop somewhere I guess. Thanks in advance...

Jeff, yeah i checked and i cant get them either. i can get the S2 but thats it... but just a thought.. if you slide that much and are basicaly looking to plant how about trying one of the traction soles like a T5 or if you dont want to slide at all use a T2 sole
hope this helps

Thanks DB,
I had not thought of using the T5 sole. It is designed to "shuffle" so it should slide some. That might be perfect on those ice approaches.
I just wish centers kept their approaches clean and there would be less issues. The center where City/county tourney is this weekend is always slippery. If you use a brush on your show, you can see the dust fly off. I hate thinking about my feet when on the approach... but oh well..
Thanks again,
Jeff

The problem is probably not the approaches. Dusting your shoe before you step up onto the approach may help you out. Run your hand on the floor in front of the approach and see what you come up with. I think you'll see why dusting your shoe off will help.

Yeah, it is hard to find the S1 soles. Can't remember if I've ever seen one. Will keep my eyes open for one. Our approaches are slippery and we wipe them down at least once a day, sometimes two. Bowlers sneak in baby powder and apply it to their shoes w/o even taking a couple of practice slides. I will "get on them" and it will stop for awhile but then I will start seeing powder residue. We just keep wiping it up as best possible. If you stick on our approaches it's probably your shoes.
