View Privacy Policy CloseThe all new JACKAL LEGACY has been an absolute pleasure to throw. This ball is the strongest asym ball in my bag. The Jackal Legacy is 3 boards stronger down lane than my Forge Flare, which is very impressive. I drilled mine 60x4.5x 25. I wanted this ball to be the go to ball in my bag on longer oil patterns and give me an option between this ball and the Forge Flare. The hitting power on this ball has been nothing short of amazing. I am consistently tripping out 9 pins and sending messengers to the 10 pin. I love how you can see this ball store energy down the lane and then flip over to continue all the way through the pins. The pins will fly with this ball.

Every Jackal I have owned out performs this ball. Not worth the hype.
The perfect complement to the Forge Flare. With the crazy breakthrough of the Coercion MXC coverstock on the Forge Flare, it was inevitable that we would see this cover on an asymmetric core, and I could not have picked a better series to put this cover into, the Jackal line. With the same cover, this means the same absolutely crazy strength in the oil that the Forge Flare achieved but with a more dynamic reaction overall due to the asymmetry of the core. EJ Tackett posted a MOTIV Monday near the announcement of the Jackal Legacy stating that it is a Jackal Ghost on steroids, and it is exactly that. Being a little cleaner overall than the Forge Flare, it also is able to achieve larger angles overall than the Forge Flare. I have never been able to play open angles on higher volumes like I have with the Jackal Legacy. It digs in the oil and stays stable through the fronts and mids and absolutely unloads when it sees friction downlane. If you liked the Forge Flare and if you like any of the past Jackals, this ball will absolutely not disappoint, it truly is the strongest Jackal MOTIV has ever released. Layout - 60x5.5x20

Motiv’s newest release the Jackal Legacy is a very strong Asymmetric solid which will really dig into the oil. What makes this ball so impressive to me however is even though it digs in quick, it’s surprising how much strong down lane motion and continuation you still get! As oil volumes get higher and higher at tournaments the Coercion MXC cover will be your go to combat the conditions while the proven low RG Predator V2 core will give you the control and power you will need! This ball instantly went into my tournament bag!

The Legacy of the Jackal line lives on in this latest offering from the high-performance positions on MOTIV’s ball chart. The impressively strong Coercion MXC (finished at 2000 LSS) provides the traction for the Jackal Legacy while the famed Predator V2 core (2.47RG, .054 Diff) produces impressive flare and power for superior performance.
I laid my Legacy out the same way as I laid out my Alpha Jackal as I wanted an apples to apples comparison. What I got was an apples to oranges comparison. Where the Alpha finds the friction and makes a smooth transition towards the pocket, the Legacy hits the friction earlier with a vengeance and create a much more angular reaction. Though the Coercion cover is much stronger overall than that which is on its predecessor, its ability to retain energy for a strong backend motion is unique amongst its peers throughout the industry. In comparison to the most recent complimentary piece released, where the Forge Flare is built to be early and forward when it makes its motion to the pocket, this Jackal iteration creates downlane angle with more forgiveness on the same heavy oil patterns. With a 4” pin to PAP layout I routinely see 6+ inches of flares which helps tame the fresh patterns I am on while opening up my pocket entry angles. Whether you are speed dominant or rev dominant, I believe this piece can be drilled to give everyone the full suite of advantages this technology combination provides.
