Legacy is definitely an accurate name with this one. Definitely a very solid piece to carry on the Legacy for the Jackal line.
I laid this ball out to be fairly clean. The reason being with this being such an aggressive ball I put a longer pin on it and what a great decision.
I've found so far that Motiv did a great job at designing this ball to be naturally clean with this being such a big ball.
With the layout that I put I found it very appealing as it allowed the Legacy which has a low rg to naturally read the lane while it still retained plenty of energy making it extremely continuous the pins. Comparing it to my Alpha Jackal, I found the legacy to be much slower off the spot downlane and a little earlier. A great ball to start off with when the lanes have quite a bit of volume on them!
I've been blown away throwing this Jackal Legacy. Every pattern I throw it on it's just an absolute monster (then again I love every Predator V2 core ball). When I first threw this ball, I had to move quite a bit left because of the huge coverstock and core combo. Once I got used to the shape of the ball, being a new stronger solid coverstock, I knew this ball would be great for those heavier oil patterns to give me that strong ball I need. This ball suits every kind of bowler, regardless of rev rate. I highly recommend drilling one up if you haven't, especially if you need a heavy oil ball or a big ball in general.
I just purchased this ball two weeks ago out of the box I wanted to get a feel for the ball the second game I had this ball dailed in I bowled a 255 this ball is as advertised I'm looking forward to bowling this year motiv you guys knocked it out of the park.
What to say other than, this ball hooks! The combination of the Coercion™ MXC Solid Reactive seen in the Forge Flare and the Predator™ V2 Asymmetric core found in other Jackals, this ball opens up unfamiliar territories for me on the lane. I'm able to get in deep on longer and heavier oil patterns and still create shape I otherwise wouldn't be able to. I've noticed with this increased shape from a deeper angle, I'm also not losing any carry through the pins, which is also a big plus.
I've drilled two Legacy's so far, one pin up and one pin down. The pin up ball is great when I need to create a little more shape down lane, while still reading the oil in the mids. The pin down ball has been great for closing my angles and digging through the heavy oil.
I see this ball having a spot in my bag for a long time!
The layout I used on this ball is 60x5x30. This is the same layout I used on the Alpha Jackal as well. I was overly excited about drilling this ball because it shares the same cover as the Forge Flare, and that ball gave me plenty of success since release. The Jackal Core with the Coercion gives us the strongest ball Motiv has created! Not only does this ball see the midlane, but it also shows great continuation on the backend. I like to use the Jackal Legacy when there is a bunch of oil on the lane, longer pattens, and when I need to blend out the wet/dry that you can typically see on a house shot.
