It’s all about angle! From core to cover, the Ripcord™ Velocity is built to fly fast and corner hard.  

The dual-density Oblivion™ core is a complex work of engineering unlike anything else in the world.  It features a massive flip-block to make the Ripcord™ Velocity come off the oil pattern as violently as possible.  And with a high RG and moderate differential the Oblivion™ core is dialed in for versatility on medium oil conditions.  “We’ve had this core for a few years now and I feel like we are still learning tricks that we can do with it,” said MOTIV® Tour Rep Nick Pahr. 

To take full advantage of the dynamic characteristics of the Oblivion core, MOTIV® is featuring new Infusion™ MVP Reactive cover stock on the Ripcord Velocity.  Evolving from the technology used on the Fatal Venom, Infusion MVP produces easy length and an unbelievable change of direction down lane. “This new cover technology is allowing us to shape the ball and create angles that we haven’t seen before”, said Brett Spangler of MOTIV.  Tuned with a 5500 Grit LSP finish, the Ripcord Velocity has speed to spare.  

When To Use:

  • Speed Dominant: Speed dominant players will use the Velocity as their burn ball.  What the Velocity offers is more angle down lane than anything else available.  For speed dominant players, that is the last crucial piece in the progression, a ball that can make the corner when they have to use angle. 
  • Balanced: When balanced bowlers need help through the front and angle through the pins, the Ripcord Velocity is the best option.  For balanced bowlers on higher friction surfaces where the front of the lane is an issue, this Ripcord will have no problem giving the length needed with a surprising pop down lane. 
  • Rev Dominant: For players who have rev rate to spare, the Ripcord Velocity is like cheating.  The incredible angles this ball can create for a rev dominant player are something nobody else on the lane will be able to mimic.  When getting steep is key, rev dominant players will have an unfair advantage with the Ripcord Velocity.

    The Ripcord Velocity is our new medium fast response ball. From the core to cover, the Ripcord Velocity is built to be fast and come off the spot hard.
    The Oblivion core features a massive flip-block to make the Ripcord Velocity come off the oil pattern as hard as possible.  And with a high RG and moderate differential the Oblivion core is for versatility on medium oil conditions.

    This may possibly be one of the greatest pearl symmetric balls MOTIV has ever developed. Most commonly, the best pearl, according to the majority of the #MOTIVNation, is the original Primal Rage. The utmost strength and control in oil, but with an absolutely violent backend reaction. With the release of the new Ripcord Velocity, we see every aspect of the original Primal Rage, but built upon and improved for modern conditions. The Ripcord Velocity coverstock, Infusion MVP Pearl, is truly what makes this ball special. It allows the ball to maintain a clean look through the front portion of the lane, but does not get lost in the volumes in the middle of the lane, and absolutely RIPS off the breakpoint. It is truly one of my favorite releases we have ever had and I truly believe any bowler of any style, could benefit from having this piece in their bag.

    Couldn't wait for this release!
    One of those must have balls in anyone's arsenal. Tested on 40ft house and 43ft sport RC Velocity allowed me to Rev up and play in as well as square up and tighten the line. Pin up & down, both layouts played true.
    Aggressive when needed as well as a smooth transitional ball for changing conditions.
    Cover and core, versatility. Check it out!!!

    Great ball for change

    I’ve struggled to get my Ripcord to make the turn by the last 17 feet and this ball has allowed me to stay in the same position. It continues to finish where the OG Ripcord takes too much time in my case. I’ve already shot 3 700 series with it because of how well a transition ball it is. With 450rpm at 15-15.50mph it’s a great addition to the bag

    Angularity in a box.

    If you want angularity and shape down lane look no further than Motiv Bowling’s new Ripcord Velocity release.
    The different angles this ball creates is awesome, by far the single most angular ball I’ve ever had in my hands to date from Motiv. The Oblivion symmetric core paired with the Infusion MVP pearl cover just gives you that perfect benchmark reaction every bowler should have in his bag.
    The versatility of this ball is going to pair well with many different shots you will encounter, you won’t be disappointed. To top it off the color pour on this baby is absolutely beautiful. Yet another great addition to the ball chart by the best company in bowling.
