I'm finally looking at getting a heavy-oil ball. Won't necessarily need it for league, but sport shots and tourneys. My arsenal and stats are in my signature. I'm hoping to trade a Brunswick ball that I'm about to win for either a 2Cruel or Raptor. BTW, my trade in value will be determined by whether I win a Karma, Maxxed-out, or Nexxxus.( 3rd, 2nd, or 1st respectively). My need is for a heavy-oil ball as my limited revs give me trouble getting to the pocket on higher volumes. I'd like to have the ball store up it's energy and really move once it hits the friction. I have had very good luck with the Sigma core, but I don't think the Hybrid will be enough for what I want. In reading reviews it sounds like the Raptor would be a little smoother at the breakpoint than the 2Cruel. Any thoughts, opinions, layout options are appreciated. Thank you

2 Cruel, the Whiplash cover will really help open up the back of the lane for you on heavier patterns.

Justin is more than likely correct. My 2 cents......For heavy oil, or volume, I go with my Raptor. Its a lower RG and digs through the juice more aggressively than both my Sigma Tours. The 2Cruel is a monster, but you may run into the problem of it being over/under in the back. Meaning, its a little harder to control the backend. You run that risk of duck hooking and leaving greek churches or miss it a pinch and leave the 2-4-8-10 (if youre righty, lol). My opinion, the Raptor might be the best bet on the fresh, heavy volume patterns. Once the track breaks down, get in and strap a 2Cruel! I think a 2Cruel could work, but everyone has a different way to attack the lanes. I like to have control and not give the headpin away until it opens up like the sky! Theres lots of factors that go into making sure you get the right ball for what you are looking for, but you are in the right direction going with MOTIV! If we don't have it, NO ONE DOES!

Remember surface and RG have basically the same impact on ball motion. The best part is, you can change surface infinitely. To move reaction from backend to midlane, simply dull the ball a bit. If a ball reacts too sharply to the end of the pattern or skips the mids, just add some surface.

OK, with the release of the Primal Scream, would I be OK on heavier oil patterns with the Scream, or should I still go with 2Cruel? If I go with 2Cruel, I would get very limited use and I think a Scream could get more use, but still might have to figure things out on the longest of patterns. Any ideas?

With low tilt you will generally favor the symmetrical look, as evidenced by your signature. A Primal Scream would be a fine choice.
There wouldn't be anything wrong with either ball, you just might have to be a bit more particular with choice of layout on the 2 Cruel.
