I had heard mixed reviews about this ball in the forums and I can honestly say.... I LOVE this ball!! I'm still not sure why people do not like it. Since I have switched from storm to Motiv this ball makes 6 that I have bought in the Motiv brand, and I can honestly say I have found my brand! Started with the Venom Shock (like everyone else) and now I have an arsenal of Motiv equipment!!!
This ball is great on the fresh oil, in transition and when it's dry. It prefers oil but if you can stand left and get it right you won't have any issues! This is in my bag every time I go to a tournament.
I've been wanting this ball for almost two years and I finally got one. It was as if we were meant to be together. This ball crushes the pocket and has decent margin of error. My average has gone up about 15 pins ever since I made the switch to the Golden Jackal. As a bonus, I think this is just one of the coolest looking balls out there.
This ball is an amazing compliment to the Jackal Ghost when it’s too much ball and Venom Shock Pearl when you need something stronger. Used the Gold Jackal in combination with my two Venom Shock pearls to navigate extremely broke down lanes throughout 8 games of match play to win my first GISBT title last April. The Gold Jackal is a ball I can always fall back on when the lanes get tricky. It’s also my main ball for league and have a 217 average using this ball every week.
This is the first ball I was able to throw 12 strikes in a row with. Super responsive to surface changes. Out of the box, it has a ton of length and lots of backend. Great addition for down and in bowlers, but also for those looking for something to get through the heads. I have enjoyed mine mostly at 3k or 4k surface.
I made my Golden Jackal shiny to get a little bit more pop down lane and I have to say that ball is amazing you can play Right ( as Right-handed ) and play Left with it and it still recovers after getting through a sea of oil.
Sure it sometimes Deflects a little being shiny but that's just the ball saying the angle is not right, with the right angle that ball finishes all the time at the 8-pin position and leaves nothing standing :)
