I have watched my best friend out score me time and time again with this ball. He is a Motiv fan and I have never had the opportunity to try your brand because our finger size and width are very different. He has had numerous 200+ games with the Jackal Rising. He purchased the Golden Jackal, but always comes back to this ball. I would love to step my toe into Motiv and my favorite ball that I have seen released is the Forge Fire. Motiv rocks!
Accidentally came across this ball in an online video. The video stated it is highly recommended for speed dominate players. At first I thought it’s the same blah blah you get from companies trying to sell a ball. After a few weeks of research I decided to buy one. Conferring I am stationed in Germany and this Ball has since been retired, it was hard to find. Luckily I found a German bowling alley who still had some, so I bought one. Man does this ball work as advertised. I have DV8, Roto Grip, and Storm balls because of my speed that would just go straight and plow through. This ball on the other hand, when I thought it was just going to do the same at the last second hooked like it was designed according to the pin layout. After my first practice with it, I contacted the bowling alley and bought the other 2.
This was my first Motiv ball and let me say, I’m never looking back. Typically throw 15mph with medium revs. This ball should be called the Mistake Eraser. Seriously, If you miss right it comes back in strong. If you miss left it holds the line and just completely crushes the pocket.
Shot my first 800 with this ball and have nicknamed mine “Money”. Like it so much I have another still in the box waiting it’s turn.
This was my first Motiv ball, I switched from Brunswick, Radical, and DV8, and I cannot say enough about this ball. It can hold a line in oil, it sees friction and doesn't hesitate. Heck, even on oil it still finds friction enough for a beautiful line to the pocket. I shot my 2nd and 3rd 300 with this ball, back to back, and still had the front 4 of the next game. I shot my first 800 with this ball, so I made the switch and will never look back. This ball is so easy to make a transition with on house and sport shots. The shape is nothing that I've seen before. The carry and drive it has when it hits the pocket is what makes this ball my go to. If you can still get your hands on one do not hesitate to do so.
This being my 2nd Jackal and 3rd ball with the predator core (along with the Raptor p7 and the Jackal Ghost), this ball paid for itself. Literally.
I picked this just prior to bowling a 6 gamer on Sunset strip. A pattern many people tend to not do well on.
However, if you play to your strengths and with confidence the ball will be just as confident. It read the heavy oil properly with a 50 x 4 1/4 x 40 layout and continued all the way through the pins. 4's and 9's were expected and they did show up every once in a while.
After 5 games i was plus 112 and sitting in the top 5 with one game to go. the last pair was broken down real bad, and given the excitement of the atmosphere, i got nervous, i felt the butterflies and my stomach was all twisted up, so I played safe. I switched from A game to B game and finished with a 170, knocking me back to plus 82, finishing 7th out of a 61 man/woman field of the best from the west.
My last game i saved all my bad shots for and by the tenth with nothing left on the lanes, I switched to the ghost and turkeyed.
the ball (Rising) serves a very strong purpose but remember to get your PAP, rotation and tilt mapped out because you can only drill a new ball once. Find one before there aren't anymore and as always good luck and good bowling.
