Gear APG Asymmetrical

At the heart of the Black Venom you’ll find the Gear™ APG.  Originally developed to overcome the loss of weight holes in sanctioned play, it’s a uniquely low RG / low differential asymmetric core that delivers performance beyond its price point.  With versatile drilling options, you can create many shapes on the lane with just this one Gear APG core.

Leverage MFS Solid

The cover stock on the Venom™ Shock has been the gold standard for benchmark performance since its release nine years ago.  As oil volumes have increased over time, the Venom™ Shock appears more angular, so it’s time to take things to the next level.  Upgrading to Leverage MFS technology means the Black Venom has more bite and a smoother motion on the lane, giving you the upper hand when maximum traction is what you need.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

For bowlers who have always wanted a Venom™, but the previous releases have been too weak or condition specific, the Black Venom™ is ideal. The Black Venom™ is a modern adaptation of the original Venom™ Shock, meaning that it is now stronger and smoother. This should make the Black Venom™ the perfect Venom™ for people too speed dominant for its predecessors.

  • Balanced

Bowlers with balanced speed to rev rate ratios will find incredible versatility from the Black Venom™. As in the Venom™ Shock, the real magic in the Black Venom™ is the ability to use it on a multitude of conditions and from shallow to steep angles.

  • Rev Dominant

The Black Venom™ is the ideal benchmark ball for a rev dominant bowler. All bowlers need a ball to use as a lane reader that is right in the middle of their arsenal and can be used on most conditions. The moderate strength Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive paired with such a low differential (.036) in the Gear™ APG is perfect for Rev Dominant bowlers.

    I'm Lovin It

This ball is truly insane. I've never had something where I could just throw it super close to the gutter and hit a pocket shot when it's thrown. I also just bought Monster tac which goes extremely well with is ball. Highly recommend both products when looking to purchase. This ball has also improved my average up 40 pins.

    BLACK SNAKES ARE GOOD SNAKES

This ball adds another great product to the Venom line. The asymmetric core helps me early in the league night or at the start of a tournament to blend out the oil in the mid lane and the friction at the end of the pattern. This lends itself to be on the smooth side of ball shapes, but it can still be a trusted ball to move left with. If you were a fan of the Venom Recoil and looking for something that is close, then this could be your answer.

    Venom Line (Black)…I feel smarter!!

Out of the box, freshly drilled for an earlier read, lane conditions fresh, it struggled to read through heavy oil as stated by Motiv…but couldn’t resist;)! 160’s to 170’s :(. By 3rd and 4th game it got on it! 190-233 with a 5 and 7 bagger in each it seemed to hone in on where to come out of the oil and hit its mark every time! With the Shock, Recoil and Black as my arsenal I now have a ball for all situations. I can adjust my game in real time and become a completely different bowler from throw to throw when need be.

    Fast Smooth Venom!

So, with this new release I decided to change it up a bit and go with a 6 inch pin layout. Man, this bad boy is Awesome! It just glides through the front part of the lanes and just walks to the pocket. Didn't get to throw it a lot tonight due to the Primal Shock and Carbide Tank was reading the lanes well tonight. But in game 3, half way through the game, I decided to grab the Black Venom and see how it does, should have brought it out earlier! It just had eyes for the pocket. I can literally throw it much faster! No need for a slow hook like my Primal Shock! This will definitely be staying in the bag! No need for a 6 ball arsenal anymore! Primal Shock, Carbide Tank, Venom Shock, and Black Venom is all what's needed now! Keep it up Motiv, these releases are top of the charts! Videos coming soon!!!!

    Must have

Like the heading says. This ball is a must have in your bag hands down. I drilled mine 40x4.5x70. For me this is a benchmark ball. So smooth and predictable. When it hits the pins just has a different sound. Keeps pins low and drives. I believe it’s a little stronger than on the chart. Between this and Primal Shock great one two punch. Black Venom has a round shape on the backend.
