See MoreGreat ball! I was looking for something that was a bit earlier than anything I have in my bag. Got this ball less than two weeks ago. My second set with it I shot 300/800. It's smooth and consistent. The best thing is I haven't had a shot just jump several boards left on me in the third game like my other asymmetrical balls tend to do. It's my first Motiv ball and definitely won't be my last.
See MoreThis ball is an absolute MONSTER. I have mine drilled aggressive and it has not disappointed. Once I found the line for this ball, it was over. 10 days after having it, I bowled a 300. I already have 2 with it in less than a year. It hits the pocket like nothing else I've seen and the pins go flying. Some of my bowling buddies call it the Cheat Ball because it's like I can't miss. Even an off shot recovers and explodes the pins. I highly recommend getting this ball. I already talked 4 people into getting it. Will you be next?

See MoreI drilled my Apex 70* x 4 x 40*, uncertain what to expect. I have never matched up well with the Jackal series, but the core with a higher Rg intrigued me enough to give this one a try. Historically I have been a fan of Motiv’s dual density cores. When I say repeated surprises, what I mean is it wasn’t one aspect of this ball’s motion that surprised me. It was several. While I didn’t have much expectation on overall strength, that was the first surprise. While not the strongest overall motion I have seen, it was definitely more than I anticipated. I was comfortably swinging the ball immediately, something I have struggled to do with anything in my house all year. The next surprise came when missing wide. Unlike my Jackal’s of the past, the Apex provided PLENTY of recovery to get back to the pocket AND carry. I was also pleasantly surprised by the hold the Apex provided when I pulled a shot. Not only did it stay right and hit the pocket, but carried very well (even when I felt like I deserved a corner pin). As a bonus, the colors Motiv chose makes the Apex look really good going down the lane. I would recommend this ball for anyone looking for a medium/high strength asymmetric ball that hits/carries well and offers plenty of forgiveness. I will be throwing this ball a lot.
See MoreDon’t be fooled by the lower price tag. The Thrill series is just as much quality as any other Motiv ball. They hook plenty & hit hard. I have been using this ball on a house pattern for a couple years now & it shows no sign of slowing down. It mows pins over, period.

Heavy oil patterns produce a low friction environment. This makes it very difficult to create hook, so a stronger bowling ball is required. On fresh heavy oil conditions, a “smooth” ball provides traction. As the pattern breaks down, more “angular” balls come into play.
View BallsOil patterns created with a low volume of oil result in a high-friction environment. A worn-down house shot (standard pattern) could also be described as light oil because the lanes get drier with use.
View BallsSmooth bowling balls are often used in fresh oil conditions. They begin to hook earlier and provide a more controlled motion down-lane. They are sanded to create traction. Smooth motion can also be bowler preference. Some like the controlled, smooth hook because it is more predictable.
View BallsAngular balls are needed as oil patterns get worn and break down. When friction increases, angular balls are used because they retain energy and striking power. Often polished, angular balls skid further, respond to friction faster, and have a more abrupt hook down-lane.
View BallsThis is the dark blue zone on the MOTIV Ball Guide. These are the oiliest conditions where it’s very difficult to create hook, especially on a fresh shot. Here you need bowling balls that feature a very aggressive coverstock and a dull-sanded finish. You need traction.
View BallsThis is the red zone on the MOTIV Ball Guide. These are the driest conditions. In this environment, the typical bowling ball can deflect when it hits the pocket due to energy burnout. To continue properly and increase your strike percentage, you need a bowling ball built for friction.
