Gear APG Asymmetrical

At the heart of the Black Venom you’ll find the Gear™ APG.  Originally developed to overcome the loss of weight holes in sanctioned play, it’s a uniquely low RG / low differential asymmetric core that delivers performance beyond its price point.  With versatile drilling options, you can create many shapes on the lane with just this one Gear APG core.

Leverage MFS Solid

The cover stock on the Venom™ Shock has been the gold standard for benchmark performance since its release nine years ago.  As oil volumes have increased over time, the Venom™ Shock appears more angular, so it’s time to take things to the next level.  Upgrading to Leverage MFS technology means the Black Venom has more bite and a smoother motion on the lane, giving you the upper hand when maximum traction is what you need.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

For bowlers who have always wanted a Venom™, but the previous releases have been too weak or condition specific, the Black Venom™ is ideal. The Black Venom™ is a modern adaptation of the original Venom™ Shock, meaning that it is now stronger and smoother. This should make the Black Venom™ the perfect Venom™ for people too speed dominant for its predecessors.

  • Balanced

Bowlers with balanced speed to rev rate ratios will find incredible versatility from the Black Venom™. As in the Venom™ Shock, the real magic in the Black Venom™ is the ability to use it on a multitude of conditions and from shallow to steep angles.

  • Rev Dominant

The Black Venom™ is the ideal benchmark ball for a rev dominant bowler. All bowlers need a ball to use as a lane reader that is right in the middle of their arsenal and can be used on most conditions. The moderate strength Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive paired with such a low differential (.036) in the Gear™ APG is perfect for Rev Dominant bowlers.

    SOOO Controllable

I wanted a ball that didn't over hook. Something that would get through the heads and then have a smooth arc to the pocket. The Black Venom has been perfect for that. Drill with the pin kicked out creates a very smooth arcing Ball motion with little flare. Great ball when back ends are flying and very predictable.

    Very reliable ball!

I have multiple Motiv bowling balls, and the Black Venom is just behind the Venom Shock as my favorite in the Venom line. It is just slightly more aggressive than the Shock. But I find this ball to be just as capable. And more effective on heavier or longer patterns. If you need a ball that can score high on patterns that range from medium to heavy, short or long. This is the ball for you.
